Situated on a working farm in the village of Milton close to the Northumbrian and Cumbrian border, nestling in the foothills of the North Pennines,  Dove Cottage has been skilfully converted from farm buildings.  During the restoration many original features like beamed ceilings and exposed stonework have been carefully retained.  The cottages provide a superb base for a couple to explore this region.  Here you will find wild fells, stunning views and peaceful walks under big skies.  The market town of Brampton is just 2 miles with a good range of shops and amenities, whilst the Border City of Carlisle is just 10 miles.  There are many footpaths and bridleways nearby including Gelt Woods and Talkin Tarn Country Park just 3 miles where you can enjoy sailing, rowing, fishing or relax with a picnic.
