Aldeburgh is situated at the heart of the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The river Alde, popular with sailors, winds its way to Orford downstream and up-stream to Snape Maltings, home of the internationally famous Aldeburgh Music Festival. Thorpeness, just a couple of miles north along the beach, has its own special seaside character. In Aldeburgh fishermen still, pull their colourful boats up on the shingle beach and sell fresh fish from their picturesque huts. The high street has mostly independent shops mixed in with a nice variety of eating places. There are also several good hotels overlooking the sea, ideal for a leisurely lunch or evening meal. Opposite our Aldeburgh office is an interesting old and very well equipped cinema which shows the latest films and occasional festivals e.g. the highly regarded annual Aldeburgh Documentary Film Festival. There is always plenty to do in Aldeburgh while a radius of 10 miles inland will bring you to the fabulous natural riches of the East Anglian countryside and coastal area - and plenty of excellent pubs.

Reviews

Spent three nights in very cold conditions but we were cosy in the cottage. Attention to detail was superb. Very well equipped.

Mr M,

A property perfectly equipped and situated in an ideal location.

Mr R,

Our second visit to the Sun Deck. Absolutely love it. Five star accommodation . Everything just perfect. Will definitely be booking a third stay.

Mrs T,

A beautifully appointed property. The quality of furnishings was much appreciated. We were pleased to find that there was a shortcut from The Sundeck directly onto the high street without having to climb the steps!

Mr M,

Clean, cosy and comfortable. Well equipped with extra touches that set it above the norm for many self-catering properties, and Aldeburgh is an absolute gem.
