Lake District cottages for large groups

Our Lake District cottages for large groups sleep anywhere between eight and 11 guests and are perfect for big family holidays, jollies with friends and long overdue reunions between loved ones. The perk of a large home is that it will often come with a range of amenities and luxury touches not often seen in smaller properties. From games rooms, pools and hot tubs for entertainment value, to large gardens with big patios for al fresco dining, spacious bedrooms and multiple bathrooms, a larger holiday home can often feel like your very own mini hotel! Many of our dog-friendly large cottages in the Lakes also make room for up to three pets, so don’t shy away from bringing your four-legged friends along.  

The Lake District is ideal for a large group holiday for a multitude of reasons, lest of all that there’s an entire National Park to explore! Across the area there are so many walking routes, including all 214 of the Wainwright walks, as well as various lakes and tarns in which to swim, canoe, kayak or hop on a steamer. Dotted across the Lakes are a number bustling little towns with a wide range of restaurants and shops in them, catering for all manner of preferences. This region is also deeply historic and landmarks to visit include culturally significant spots like Wray Castle and Ambleside Roman Fort. 

Our large cottages are spread across the length and breadth of the Lake District, including popular spots Grasmere, Ambleside and Elterwater. Grasmere is the perfect destination for a group of book lovers, as it was the home of William Wordsworth for many years, who famously called the area ‘the loveliest spot that man hath ever found’. Elterwater is perfect for hikers, as it sits in the foothills of the mighty Langdale Pikes, a favoured challenge of many Lake District ramblers. Ambleside makes for a great family destination as the town centre is full of shops, restaurants and local attractions, including a cinema that may come in handy for those famously rainy Lakeside days!
