Book with Original Cottages and enjoy wonderful holidays in strong and supported communities
At Original Cottages, our local people are proud to live in some stunning holiday destinations across England and Wales. We’re always thinking about how we can do our bit to support our thriving neighbourhoods and communities. That’s why we are helping to bring local communities together with UK Community Foundations – a network of people, organisations and charities that want to improve the places we live and love.
We’ll donate for every booking we receive between 15 February and 31 March this year.
Who will benefit?
During the Give Back to Look Forward campaign, our holidaymakers will help tackle the biggest issues facing communities today, such as Covid-19, and support some of society’s most disadvantaged people through food banks, community choirs and more.
The thousands of pounds you are helping to raise will go to 7 community foundations across England and Wales.
NORFOLK
Big skies and big hearts
Come and experience the unspoilt Norfolk coast, with miles of sandy beaches to explore and charming historic towns. Your break will help support local projects like Nelson’s Journey, which provides bereavement support for children who’ve lost a loved one. Or Norwich Menshed, where vulnerable men can gain practical and social skills. In fact, the charities you help support will reach 1 in 4 people in the county.

DEVON
Switch off to switch on
When you book a break in Devon, you can look forward to pure relaxation by the sparkling seas. Perhaps you’ll even indulge in a famous cream tea, or two? But you can also look forward to helping local people through projects like Trevi, where women in recovery from addiction and domestic abuse can start to build a new life in Plymouth. Meanwhile, YMCA Exeter is another charity your booking could benefit. They help homeless people into independent living and support young people in the area, too.

DORSET
New adventures start here
There’s an adventure waiting around every corner in Dorset – with the Jurassic Coast to explore, historic castles to discover and miles of trails to cycle or hike. Your booking helps support projects like the Bus Stop Club, which helps local people who are struggling with debt through financial advice and skills managing money, and the Shine Project, where young teenage girls can get support to cope with the ups and downs of everyday life.

YORKSHIRE
Inspiring people. Inspiring places
God’s own country is crammed with things to do and see. Picturebook villages and towns nestle in Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the wild coastline is a feast for all the senses. Your booking could help provide community facilities, such as the renovation of a skate park to give young people a place to play. Other projects that are funded in Yorkshire include the relaunch of a community choir and music club, which is now welcoming vulnerable people through their doors so they can enjoy the benefits of music.

SUFFOLK
A place with so much to give
Famous as a destination loved by artists and writers, Suffolk will inspire you. Its nature reserves are world-renowned, its countryside gentle and inviting, and its historical treasures are waiting to be investigated. Holidaymakers are helping to support projects like the Karibu African Women’s Group in Ipswich, which provides activities and wellbeing groups. You could also be funding a project to help those leaving the justice system get into work and contribute to society, or you might be giving to families who are caring for a loved one living with dementia.

WALES
Explore your way
The wildlands of Wales are a magical landscape waiting to welcome you. Climb mighty mountains, paddle blue waters or cycle spectacular woods. There are more than 30,000 community groups in Wales who could benefit from your support through Give Back to Look Forward. They include Oasis Cardiff, who provide food parcels to feed refugees and asylum seekers who have fled the threat of persecution because of their race, religion, nationality, politics, or social group.

CORNWALL
Shining the light
Loved by so many, Cornwall is a gem of a destination you’ll never want to leave. Book your next trip to its amazing beaches and stunning attractions today, and we’ll donate to community foundations who run amazing projects across the county. You could be helping young families who are facing financial hardship to receive the support they need to get back on track or allowing women and girls to fulfil their potential and help their community grow even stronger.
