Cottages in Constantine Bay
Constantine Bay on the north coast of Cornwall is not only one of the best surfing spots in the region but also the ideal spot for a dog-friendly break or a walking holiday. We have an exclusive collection of holiday cottages in Constantine Bay and the surrounding area for you to choose from. With Constantine Bay, Harlyn Bay, Trevone Bay and Padstow all close by, many of our cottages in this lovely corner of Cornwall boast fantastic sea views and are just a stone’s-throw away from the beach. The majority of our Constantine Bay accommodation is also dog-friendly and this area at large is also extremely pet-friendly, as many of North Cornwall’s beaches welcome dogs throughout the year. You will also find a number of Constatine Bay cottages in our bespoke luxury cottages in Cornwall collection, with some of our homes in the area boasting extra special features such as games rooms and electric vehicle charging points.
Constantine Bay is a golden sandy beach, backed up by a labyrinth of rolling sand dunes and interspersed by a network of rockpools. At low tide, these fascinating rockpools are exposed and adults, children and dogs alike flock to have an explore and see what they can find hidden in the pools. The sea at Constantine Bay is also some of the best for surfing and watersports, thanks to the combination of gently shelving sand and being westerly facing. The sea is also great for a swim or a paddle and the beach is monitored by lifeguards daily during the summer season, so you can rest assured that you’ll be kept safe on the bay. This news will be welcomed by dog owners too, who can trust that their pooch will also be looked out for, should they fancy dipping their paws in the water too.
Across Constantine Bay and neigbouring St Merryn, there are a number of dog-friendly eateries. Rick Stein’s pub, the Cornish Arms and local favourite, The Farmer’s Arms both welcome dogs and also serve a range of local beers alongside two very delectable menus. To fuel your beach days, check out Constantine Beach Cafe & Surf Hire, which sells a fabulous range of snacks, pasties, sandwiches and hot and cold drinks, including beer and prosecco. Overall, there are plenty of places to eat in this corner of Cornwall, so you never have to worry about finding good food on the days you choose to opt for going out over staying in.
The Constantine Bay area is also a wonderful spot for walking. Being just four miles away from Padstow and even closer to St Merryn, Harlyn Bay and Trevone Bay, it is very possible to walk between these spots at a leisurely pace. One of the best local walks has to be the route between Constantine Bay and Trevose Head, which takes around 20 minutes each way. If accessibility is essential to you and you’d prefer to drive, there is also a car park at Trevose Head, which is free to National Trust members. The headland itself has some of the best views of the coast and you can see for miles out onto the Atlantic Ocean, making it a great spot to appreciate the beauty of North Cornwall and enjoy the fresh sea breeze.
So whether you’re looking for an action-packed sea-fuelled break, or a gentle get away filled with sunbathing, eating and drinking, you will enjoy a break in one of our Constantine Bay cottages.
