Description
Situated on 20 acres, the Tamar Valley offers abundant outdoor space with trails for families to explore. Hiking allows immersion in the natural environment, spotting wildlife out in the countryside. At Lydford Gorge (11 miles), adrenaline-seekers can enjoy tree surfing amidst treetops, navigating high rope bridges and zip wires. Wooden sculptures and a 30-meter waterfall provide enchantment. Children can engage in activities like exploring the Devil's Cauldron and building dens. Other days out include the nearby market town of Tavistock (8.5 miles), the Tamar Trails Centre (6 miles) and historic Morwellham Quay (8 miles). Further afield, The Eden Project (30 miles) beckons nature enthusiasts with its rainforest biomes and outdoor gardens, featuring exotic species and sculptures.
Enter this fabulous reverse-living woodland lodge into the hallway, where you’ll find three bedrooms on the ground floor. The first is a twin, which can be made into a super-king-size on request and offers plenty of space for a restful stay, followed by a wonderful double bedroom with a convenient en-suite Jack-and-Jill bathroom as well as French doors leading out to the garden. The third bedroom is a twin that can also be made into a king-size on request and a shower room completes the ground floor. Moving upstairs you will find a wonderful lounge/diner offering cosy seating around the TV and a lovely outlook out onto the park and woodland, this is a great spot for popping on a film and snuggling up for a great night in. The dining table is a pleasant place to sit and have a coffee or enjoy a board game together. The kitchen is modern and bright and very well equipped, whether it be popping on the slow cooker or whipping up a toastie, you’ll find everything you need for a relaxing stay. Located on-site for the more active guests in the group is a tennis court, games room and children's play area or enjoy an evening at the Honicombe Arms, the onsite pub!
The French doors open onto a lovely, terraced area with seating and a table where you can dine alfresco or relax in your own private hot tub whilst listening to the birds and the nearby stream.
