Within a 5.5-mile radius, you'll find inviting shores at Whitsand Bay, Downderry, and Seaton, all popular and seasonally dog-friendly destinations. To the north lies the rugged beauty of Bodmin Moor (21.5 miles), a haven for hikers seeking scenic vistas and historic mining cottages. For a little adventure why not explore the Adrenaline Quarry (6 miles) – something for all the family! For nature enthusiasts, Sibleyback Lake (13 miles) offers walking trails, while cyclists can explore Cardinham Woods (21 miles).

This property serves as an ideal base for a Cornish adventure full of coastal charm, natural beauty, and exciting attractions. Step into this welcoming cottage and through a hallway, off which you’ll find two fabulous bedrooms. The king-size has an en-suite while the second bedroom – a charming twin which can be made up as a super-king-size on request – has the use of a fully appointed, family bathroom. Head through into the expansive open-plan living area which is the heart of the residence, boasting floor-to-ceiling windows that showcase uninterrupted vistas of the surrounding countryside. These windows usher in an abundance of natural light, while a cosy wood burner transforms the space into an idyllic sanctuary, regardless of the weather outside. The kitchen is fully equipped and allows you to interact with the rest of your party who might want to gather at the dining room table while cooking up an evening meal or preparing a drink or two. Moving upstairs, there is a luxurious master bedroom complete with a super-king-size bed and en-suite shower room, making for a wonderful night's sleep and lazy lie-in with all your creature comforts.

Step outside onto the sun-drenched terrace and verdant gardens, offering an ideal setting to bask in the beauty of the countryside views. It’s a blissful place to spend some time, whether you're orchestrating a culinary masterpiece on the impressive BBQ, immersing yourself in a captivating book, or luxuriating in the bubbling hot tub.

Reviews

We had a wonderful time at Meadows Cottage. Hosts Jamie and Grainnie were brilliant and even kindly provided some gluten free offerings on arrival. The cottage was perfectly laid out - smart, but cosy too and it was also very well equipped. The beds were very comfortable and the underfloor heating in the bathrooms were a treat. Relaxing in the hot tub under the stars was very special. The nearby post office/convenience store at St. Germans was useful - check opening times. The location was great too - Adrenaline Quarry for my teenage boys and lovely beach walks for us all. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Mrs L,

A fantastic stay in a gorgeous, well-equipped property. The ground floor bedroom and bathroom suited those of us with mobility issues and the dog had a great time running around the garden. Close to Looe and several dog friendly beaches, which worked out perfectly for us. Hosts were friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend.

Miss H,

Please please book this cottage . Facilities are outstanding and nothing is too much trouble for owners to help you out with . Hot tub a nice touch and views outstanding. Great location to do many beaches and ports .Hope to return to this part of Cornwall . Meadow cottage we thank you for a relaxing stay

Mr R,

Absolutely adored our stay! The beds were very comfortable, the place was amazing. The hot tub was incredible and the views were great to wake up to. The owners were incredibly helpful, gave us fresh eggs and a welcome basket including a cake which was very appreciated.

Miss D,

Excellent accommodation, everything you need, very comfortable beds, hot tub was lovely way to relax, beautiful scenery and surroundings and use of large adjoining garden a bonus especially if you have a dog. Fantastic welcome pack with cream tea, home made scones (shame they were not vegan!) So my hubby and I had to eat them all! Free range eggs from their chickens and coffee pods & milk. Would definitely reccomend. I would advise a car if you want to go out, although pub and shop within a mile, would be a difficult walk (unless you are super fit and enjoy hiking!) plus lots of narrow country lanes with no street lights, so if hou want to go out and walk home, probably not the place for you. We didn't see owners at all but they responded to messages/needs immediately, giving complete privacy throughout stay. Overall a great holiday, relaxing and enjoyable.

Mrs L,

Really nice, comfortable, clean cottage. The bathroom for each bedroom, plus 2 bedrooms being downstairs makes this cottage great for those with mobility issues (two of our party were very elderly). We haven’t been to this part of Cornwall before, so enjoyed exploring. We can recommend Lanhydrock and Antony House for days out. We ate at the Crumplehorn, Polperro (reasonably priced, but average) and The Three Pilchards, Polperro (great food and spectacular views from the beer garden). The cottage is also well laid out and equipped for eating in. Loved the extensive recycling processes in place. I always think Cornish holidays, given their status of natural beauty, should support proper recycling and this was the first holiday home that actually did. Well done! We had a restful, enjoyable week in this comfortable cottage.

Mrs E,

An excellent cottage in all respects in a tranquil and relaxing location

Mr M,

We had a wonderful stay at The Meadows. Accommodation was lovely, complete with enclosed garden with wonderful views, esp on an evening in the hot tub under a starry sky. Perfect location for exploring Downderry, Seaton, Looe, Cawsand,Kingsand and Whitsand. Only a 30 min drive to explore Plymouth and approx 1 hrs drive to newquay or Watergate Bay. Some lovely pubs and eaterys. The Hosts were on hand with any help or requests. We look forward to staying here again.

Mrs T,

Absolutely beautiful home, very well appointed, amazing quality dusk bedding, peaceful and tranquil. Absolutely would stay again, if you’re thinking about it, go ahead and book you won’t be disappointed.
