Reviews

Clean, tidy, modern with nice bathroom and en-suite.. Beds a little hard for our taste. All in all a comfortable house for the week. Thank you

Miss C,

Great house in a good location. Well equipped and very comfortable. Cobwebbing in property needs to be improved.

Mrs L,

A really well equipped and comfortable property with everything you need. Garden needs attention and we were unable to sit outside due to lack of furniture. The access to the drive can be a bit challenging if you’ve got aN SUV or a van as opposite the resident has a disabled parking bay which makes it tight to turn in or out without manoeuvring back and forth. Overall a lovely property.

Mrs G,

We really enjoyed our stay and the inside of the property was beautiful. Lovely features such as the use of driftwood as shelves and the bannisters and the Bluetooth mirror in the bathroom was a hit. We played some of the board games and enjoyed the cream tea provided. Just enough tea and coffee to last the week too! We did find the oven was really slow to cook for some reason.

Mrs H,

You need to check that light bulbs are working as several were out throughout the property. The one in our bedroom was too high to reach to even change ourselves. You have a washer and outside line but no pegs. No change of bedding or towels half way through and we didn’t have the facilities to wash and dry ourselves. This is the first time in 10 years visiting Cornwall this has happened and is unacceptable. There were no instructions for the cooker. The back garden is poorly kept, has weeds coming through the artificial grass, neighbours trees growing over the fence and is pretty grubby windows. We were unable to use barbecue as it is very rusty and had a bag of rubbish in it. Only 2 high rusty seats which meant we couldn’t use the garden. It’s clear from other reviews that they received cream teas and we received a pack of biscuits which is the worst welcome pack we have had. Nowhere to hang coats as this had clearly been broken but never put back up which was just two screws but left inside the cupboard downstairs. This meant our coats smelled of cooking as they had to be placed on chairs in kitchen. The 5 coat hangers in a talllboy is not enough for 2 people for two weeks so we lived out of suitcases for the duration of our stay. There were clearly enough space in both bedrooms for proper wardrobes. Again this is the worst we have experienced with other cottage providers. You have a soundbar and speaker yet the TV is not even HD. The whole house had cobwebs throughout especially in the wooden lampshades, around the fire, on the walls, ceilings and beams. Finally please invest in proper pillows as they were cheap and uncomfortable. We The amount of money we paid was a lot for a disappointing stay. It seems that too much emphasis is on aesthetics rather than basic comfort, and amenities. It seems like a minimum in and maximum out mentality is at the forefront of this cottage.

Mrs C,

The cottage was lovely, it had everything we neede was, nicely furnished and in very good condition. The owners were generous with their welcome pack.

Mrs K,

Lovely modern house with all mod cons. Very well equipped with everything that would be needed in the kitchen. Welcome pack of scones, jam and cream was a lovely touch. Also fresh flowers on the table. In a good position not far from the centre of Marazion. Takes about 15 minutes to walk but uphill coming back I managed it although I’m not good at hills! Also walked over to St Michael’s Mount. We were very lucky with the weather. Would definitely recommend and would stay there again.

Mrs B,

Sorry to say that we were very disappointed with this property and do not consider it as value for the money we paid. There were numerous problems, notably the spa bath was unusable as the pop up plug was u/s, front bedroom window could not be fully closed leaving a gap which was not good with the strong winds that were encountered during our visit - plugged gap with kitchen roll. Kitchen plinth heater had been switched off, this made that area very cold. Eventually found isolator to switch it on. We were not confident enough to use the freezer section of the fridge freezer as we found defrosted ice cube bags and the circulating fan was iced up. During the stay we also became aware of there being several loose balusters at the top and bottom of the stairs. Owner did pay a visit at the beginning of our stay, we pointed out the problems which we had found at that time, being the window and freezer, he did look at the window but could not fix the problem and for the freezer he said it needed defrosting. In general we consider that the property now needs a little bit of TLC to repair the cracks and flaked plaster and redecoration. Have given a 'good' ratings for equipment and comfort, these would have been 'very good' if everything was fully functional.

Dr P,

This is a very modern, comfortable house. Plenty of bathrooms, very comfortable beds and a really well equipped kitchen - and 2 parking spaces!!

Mrs P,

Comfortable and very well equipped. A home from home.

Mr M,

Location

Marazion is home to the iconic castle of St Michael's Mount and, offering stunning views towards the Lizard Peninsula and Land's End, it's understandably a popular destination. The ancient market town has a fascinating history and claims to be the oldest town in Britain.  It's a great place to visit any time of the year with an abundance of restaurants, traditional pubs, craft shops, art galleries and so much more! There's an excellent sandy beach, guarded by St Michael's Mount, that's ideal for swimming, sailing, kite surfing and all kinds of watersports.  The surrounding countryside is dotted with little hamlets and quaint villages with the whole area designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) - a great location for bird watching and dolphin spotting.

Godolphin Cross, a little hamlet only 6 miles from Marazion, lies nestled at the base of Godolphin Hill within the Cornish Mining World Heritage site. From the summit of Godolphin Hill there are spectacular panoramic views over West Cornwall and the Lizard Peninsula.  The nearby fishing village of Porthleven and the town of Helston are a short drive away as well as the well-known attractions of Flambards, Paradise Park and Gweek Seal Sanctuary which make excellent days out for all age groups. The Lizard Peninsula encompasses numerous picturesque coves and sandy beaches for you to enjoy including Praa Sands, Mullion and Coverack.  It's an area which remains unspoilt and is definitely a real Cornish gem!
