Description
This delightful, semi-detached cottage has plenty of cosy spaces to relax as a family or group, both inside and out. With a special location by the dunes under the Whinstone Crags - which Bamburgh Castle stands on - you’ll appreciate the garden gate leading to a path through the dunes and onto the beach. Enjoy days on the sands where you can try water sports like surfing and carve out time to visit the historic castle. Refresh in the town’s cafes, tea rooms and restaurants, and sample local seafood dishes. There’s a scenic, sea-view golf course if you fancy a few rounds. Explore the Northumberland coastline in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with day trips to the likes of Seahouses (4 miles) where you can stroll along the harbour and catch seasonal boat trips to spot wildlife on Farne Islands; or visit Alnwick (18 miles), a market town with an impressive castle and gardens.
Notice the charm of this one-level cottage as you pass through the garden gate and up the plant-lined path to the front door, which leads to the entrance hall via one step. Inside, the living areas are cosy and rustic. The lounge boasts two leather sofas facing an open fire in a stone fireplace, as well as a TV, DVD player and an in-built bookcase with books and children’s games. There’s a bright conservatory with exposed stone walls, tiled floors with underfloor heating, plenty of comfy seating and French doors with one step down to the garden. The U-shape kitchen has special appliances like the range cooker, sandwich maker, juicer and coffee maker. A cosy wood burner sits between the kitchen and the dining room, which boasts an eight-seater table topped with pendant lights and a TV, radio, CD player and iPod dock. Beside the table, patio doors lead to the garden. The four bedrooms comprise a king-size, two twin rooms and a double with an en-suite shower room that has a step into the shower. There’s also a bathroom with a hand-held shower over the bath, as well as a separate shower with a step up - ideal for families, who will also welcome the children’s bath toys. You’ll also find a further shower room with one step up. Finally, there is an open-air, concrete inner courtyard, which houses the log-store.
Pass through the doors of the dining room or the conservatory into the delightful garden which is fully enclosed with a large, grassed area. There’s also a patio area with a bench, table, chairs, parasol and a BBQ. It comes with many amenities including a full set of outside plates and glasses, an outside tap for washing your dog or wetsuit, and children’s beach toys - from buckets and spades to bodyboards - which will come in handy as the garden’s gate leads to a path through the dunes, directly onto the beach.
