Bodham is a lovely north Norfolk village with a good pub and just a short drive from Norfolk’s diverse coastline. For traditional seaside entertainment, head for Cromer with its iconic Pier; you can pick up the Norfolk Coastal path here and there are some great walks along the clifftops. National Trust’s Felbrigg Hall, Gardens & Estate often host events throughout the year and is just a 10 minute drive from the Cottage. Also run by the National Trust, Sheringham Park has acres to wander and explore; come in late spring for the spectacular rhododendrons and azaleas that flower here. There is a steam train service running along the coastline, from the popular seaside town of Sheringham to the elegant, Georgian town of Holt. Both towns are worth a visit, take in a bit of culture at the Sheringham Little Theatre and enjoy traditional fish and chips on the promenade. Holt is full of independent boutique shopping, art and antique galleries and café culture. It has a great food hall and some good places to eat & drink, from vintage tea rooms with pretty gardens to excellent pubs. If you enjoy a spot of golf then two prestigious golf courses await nearby, Sheringham being just 3 miles away and Cromer 7 miles away.

I missed the paddle stairs when choosing the place but we managed. It's a great quirky little place and we found it ideal for touring and walking and exploring. The log burner was a lovely touch and the welcome pack generous.

Julie and K,

We had a lovely stay i this well equipped cottage, everything is so well thought out. Absolutely loved the welcome basket, such a nice touch. Ada was very helpful. I would love to stay here again, such a lovely place to stay and great location to explore Norfolk. Thank you.

Previous Customer,

What a gem: Penny Cottage is a lovely place to stay. The fittings and furnishings are great, it was very clean and the kitchen was very well equipped. It’s a 150 year old building so the downstairs ceilings are a little low (watch out if 6ft or over) and the staircase steep but that it adds to the charm of the place. It’s very well situated in a lovely quiet village and a great place to explore North Norfolk. Adam came to say hello and introduce himself along with some homemade wine (it was lovely) and came to our rescue when we stupidly locked ourselves out. The welcome hamper was very thoughtful and much appreciated, it even included treats for the dog! A wonderful and comfortable place to stay, if I’m ever back in Norfolk I would definitely see if Penny Cottage was available.

Mr U,

Lovely quiet little retreat, with everything you could need here already. Stairs are novel but just as posted in the advert so no problem. Would return again. Nice welcome pack too, thankyou!
