Reviews

Excellent cottage in a great location for exploring Northumberland

Mr M,

Absolute amazing place! 8 of us came for a diving trip, unfortunately due to bad seas the diving was cancelled. We were so fortunate to have such a huge place to spend time in. The games room was a big hit, the fire pit and bbq hut were amazing. The cottage is outstanding and the outside is beautiful. It had everything you could ever want. There isn't one thing I would change! Already looking at booking again for next year.

Mr B,

I’m glad l are ignored the negative reviews. The house was amazing it had everything that we needed as a family the garden was amazing for the children. The pool room was a hit with all the family. The location was perfect. I could not fault this property and will be back as soon as we can

Mrs J,

A nice size house in a small hamlet, directly off a main road but not too noisy. Exiting the property can be tricky as you can only see the road when most of the car bonet is into the road. Property itself is a nice size with plenty of space to spread out. Furniture was OK for the time we spent in the house. Kitchen needed a deep clean and like most rentals the small appliances and utensils are way past thier prime, plenty of good quality crockery but pans and trays were worn. Oven makes a continuous ring sound, broken timer, had to turn off at isolator. The garden was good to exercise the dogs as there isn't much around the property to explore with everything on main roads. Short drive to shops but the co-op isn't the best. Surprised to see no handbook but most things are self explanatory. The smart tv and Internet were great to use and a must for the location. We had no signal on EE so internet was a must. Nice week in a good house, only slightly let down with age related items.

Mr B,

Very nice house, in good location, not enough cleaning equipment, no instructions for any machine

Dr T,

This is an extremely spacious well appointed property for exploring the Northumberland coast. Sufficient bathrooms/toilets for 8 guests. Lots of space to have some quiet time if required but great for entertaining together.

Mrs L,

Spacious, well equipped property. Enjoyable stay.

Mr W,

Blue Poppy House in large, comfortable, in a great location and a good price. However, there are issues with a bad smell of drains and excessive noise when the shower pump in the en-suite is running, the garden is not maintained, and some new cooking utensils would be nice. Also, some of the rings on the hob no longer work

Mr B,

We rented this house for a family event. It was very spacious for 9 adults inside and out, extremely well-equipped and clean. A excellent welcome pack of basic supplies was provided. The location is very peaceful but within easy reach of the beaches and town of Bamburgh.

Ms C,

A spacious attractive house in a great location for Bamburgh and Holy Island. Well equipped, very clean and well maintained inside.

Mrs C,

We had a lovely week at Blue Poppy House. There were a few niggles that we have notified the company about, but on the whole the house was spacious and comfortable. The garden was a great size for our dogs to play ball. The surrounding area was lovely with lots of walks and places to see. Good location for visiting places in Northumberland and we went over the border to St Abbs in Scotland.

Mrs G,

Following the reviews that we'd seen prior to the the holiday we were apprehensive about the visit. We however couldn't have been more surprised. The property was lovely, spacious and very clean. There were toilet rolls left in all bathrooms and a well stocked kitchen with a welcome pack including bin bags, tea towels, washing up liquid, tea, coffee, biscuits. The location is great, with a short drive to Bamburgh beach and Seahouses. We will definitely stop again!

Miss H,

Enjoyed our stay and if a few adjustments are made it would be somewhere we would return to

Mrs K,

We had a really fabulous stay at Blue Poppy House. We’d read a couple of earlier reviews just before we left which were a little worrying, but it looks as though all concerns raised must have been well and truly addressed. The house was beautiful. It’s warm, cosy, wonderfully decorated and had every amenity we needed. There was even a pile of board games in the little study off the lounge, which was a lovely touch. The garden was well maintained and the house was immaculately clean throughout. The beds were extremely comfortable and the bedrooms were so dark and quiet, we had some of the best nights’ sleep in a long time. There was a good supply of cleaning materials, loo roll and hand soap, good-quality bed linen, and plenty of fluffy white towels. We took our own logs and thoroughly enjoyed the open log fire in the sitting room each evening. There’s also a very good ‘living flame’ style heater in the dining room, which is very cosy if needed. The location is ideal. We’ve already booked our next stay and can’t wait to return.

Ms N,

Lovely location, was a little nervous as had read some poor reviews. However, was impressed. Location is perfect, is on what could be a busy road but during Christmas it was quiet. It was very clean, apart from the oven which was a dirty and I ended up giving it a good clean before others arrived. House is a good size for 8 people, and lovely having separate bedroom from the kitchen, as perfect for the young family. It would be perfect in the summer as good garden space and we probably would have made use of the conservatory and the BBQ space. Was a surprise when the TV was SMART with Netflix, nice to chill out at Christmas with the fire on. Oven was challenging to use, and took some planning. Was disappointed with the welcome pack. All in all we enjoyed our stay it was perfect for the 8 of us and the dog, plenty of room and space, would recommend.
