Reviews

Idyllic cottage in the country, Lovely welcome pack and cottage warm on our arrival Bed was so comfy and slept like logs . Hot tub very welcoming and we watched the nighttime creeping up from there . Beautiful scenery of rolling hills. Coming from a busy city, all we heard was birdsong and the rumble from the cattle. Amazed to see so many pheasants owning the country lanes . Certainly recharged our batteries

Mrs A,

When I arrived for my stay I didn’t realise that there was another cottage which was slightly disappointing as this stay was advised as quite and rural

Mr K,

We had a lovely relaxing short break in the well-equipped cottage. Excellent helpful reception from the owner on arrival with a few treats inside. The location is peaceful & idyllic looking over fields - ideal to sit down with a cold glass of something at the end of the day to spot the Red Kites & Buzzards. Good central location for exploring mid-Wales.

Mr D,

The cottage was lovely and clean and well presented and the owner greeted us with the key. It is set in a scenic location on a farm looking out onto fields with lovely well kept gardens. The hot tub was situated at the front of the cottage in a private position overlooking the gardens and fields. We had a very relaxing stay there and would recommend it to other visitors.

Mrs B,

Lovely cottage with everything you need for a weekend in gorgeous countryside. The owners were very helpful and we really appreciated the treats and milk there for us when we arrived

Mrs W,

A beautiful place to stay with amazing views over the countryside. If a peaceful and tranquil holiday is what your looking for then this is the place to stay. With scenic views from your own private hot tub it really is a wonderful place to stay. And, Incase your wondering if the window beside the hot tub isn't private it is, it belongs to your building and nobody else can look at you when your in the hot tub.

Mr G,

We would like to say thank you to the owner and yourselves for making our stay in Wales a relaxing and enjoyable time, we loved relaxing in the hot tub each evening.

Mrs M,

Perfectly peaceful cottage. Owner were lovely and very helpful

Mrs B,

Lovely location, incredible view from the hot tub. Lots of places to visit nearby such as Powis Castle.

Ms S,

Overall, excellent experience. Greatest highlight is definitely the privacy of the hot tub and the view. Would definitely come again! :)

Dr S,

Lovely cosy cottage. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet and the use of the hot tub. Beautiful views too.

Mrs B,

We have just returned from a wonderful weekend break to this beautiful cottage. The location is stunning with views all over the country side. The cottage was so lovely and comfortable with everything we needed for a perfect stay! The owners were so welcoming and the bottle of bubbly and chocolates were a really kind gesture! The hot tub was perfect to relax in after a busy day exploring the area. We loved it and would certainly return! Can't recommend this cottage highly enough!

Dr P,

Exceptional location for a quiet holiday with lots of walking routes. Lovely to jump in the hot tub at the end of a long day walking.

Mr G,

Lovely cottage in the Welsh countryside. Hot tub was an added luxury!

Miss I,

Lovely place to use as a base to explore mid/north Wales. Ideal cottage for a couple and the hot tub was very welcome after some long walking days.

Past Customer,

A very lovely cottage in very beautiful surroundings, had a wonderful stay and lovely host . We used the cottage as a base as we went on some fantastic walks all around Wales, so by the time we got back to the cottage we were most definitely ready for the “ hot tub “, an absolute godsend for our aching legs. Would love to and definitely will go back again.

Past Customer,

Location

Tref y Nant is a semi detached cottage, which forms the wing of a delightful, listed farmhouse that dates back to 1742. This cosy Welshpool accommodation enjoys large gardens and glorious views over rolling countryside. Set on a working beef and sheep farm within 2 miles of Powis Castle and the award winning village of Berriew which also has a lovely pub restaurant, Spar and butcher.

The market town of Welshpool (4 miles) offers a wide range of amenities, including shops and supermarkets, restaurants, cafes and pubs. There is also a canal, a steam train, a number of castles and even a small airport nearby if you fancy a flight in a small airpolane or helicopter. The Flash Centre in Welshpool has a large swimming pool with twisting slide, rapids ride, spa pool and is also great for young children with paddling and beach areas.

Enjoy fine walks around the farm and surrounding countryside, including a footpath that leads from the farm to Castle Caereinion. Ride the steam train from Llanfair Caereinion to Welshpool or take the short drive to the stunning Lake Vyrnwy, where you can try your hand at watersports and cycling or enjoy a leisurely walk and good lunch. Among the recommended restaurants within 5 miles of the cottage, you have Horseshoes Inn in Berriew (1.5 miles), Nags Head in Garthmyl (3 miles) and Royal Oak and Cornstore in Welshpool itself (4 miles). Another one not to be missed is Checkers, the Michelin restaurant in the beautiful town of Montgomery (6 miles).

If you’re after castles and culture, Mid Wales has both in spades. Powis Castle, which started life as a medieval fortress, is a must, especially for its beautiful gardens and collection of paintings, sculpture, furniture and tapestries. Dolforwyn Castle, the last castle to be built by Llewelwyn (Prince of Wales) between 1273 and 1277 is also worth a visit, as is the drive to Glansevern Hall Gardens (2.5 miles). Other popular attractions include Llanrhaeadr Waterfall (the tallest in the UK), Portmeirion and the Mountains of Snowdonia, the Centre for Alternative Technology and King Arthur's Labyrinth.
