Description
Frog House is a traditional stone Dales’ cottage built around 1775. It has stunning views over Swaledale plus great walks, cycle routes and nature all around. It was recently renovated to a high standard by local crafts people using the best natural materials, so it meets the expectations of contemporary living. The cottage sleeps up to four people in two bedrooms (one double, and one zip, so either a king size double or two singles depending on your party) and has two bathrooms. It has a very well-equipped kitchen with granite work surfaces and a bespoke breakfast area, plus a comfortable sitting and dining room with a log burner for cosy evenings. The house also has under-flooring heating throughout for all-day comfort if needed. Outside, the patio area is ideal for a morning coffee or evening glass of wine while you enjoy the landscape. Inside, the décor puts a modern twist on a country style with an interesting display of pictures and ceramics. One/two well behaved dogs are happily accommodated and there is secure bike storage at the back of the house. Swaledale is a great place for enjoying long days outdoors, or for simply taking time out from the stresses of daily life. Frog House is an extremely comfortable home from home with everything you need to make the most of your holiday.
As Frog House was recently renovated it is now extremely well insulated and has well-positioned roof-lights, so uses energy for heating and lighting very efficiently. The underfloor heating is powered by oil, however double glazing, thick curtains and quilts, plus the log burner mean that its use is kept to a minimum. Most household products are environmentally friendly from brands such as Ecover.
