Description
Large Lake District cottage sleeping up to 11 people, or if booked with Dale End Barn (reference: GL007) and Dale End Loggia (reference: GL002) sleeping 17 people in total.
Occupying a splendid position on the lower slopes of Silver Howe, overlooking Grasmere Water, Heron Pike and the surrounding fells, Dale End Farm is situated one mile from Grasmere village along the winding Langdale/Red Bank Road. A traditional stone built Lakeland farmhouse with many attractive features, to provide a high level of comfort, space and flexibility of accommodation.
Entrance is into a large hallway with lakeland stone floor. Seating, bookshelves and a separate w.c. with hooks for coats and space for boots inside. Down a step into the large lounge seating 12, large flatscreen tv, video & DVD and superb views of the fells and Grasmere Water. The lounge leads through into a comfortable study with its own flat screen tv and additional seating for 7. Access to the garden and upper terrace, with rustic picnic tables with seating for 12.
The hand made oak fitted kitchen has views to die for and is of a traditional farmhouse style with La Canche range cooker, dishwasher and a separate utility houses a full size fridge, full size freezer and plenty of cupboard space for storing all your essentials. Either the kitchen or hall entrance leads into the dining room with a huge long table with spacious seating for 12, a real 'pass me the salt affair'! Off the dining room a door leads into the family bedroom on the ground floor, with king size and single bed plus ensuite shower room.
Upstairs: Wide stairs from the entrance hallway lead to the first floor. A short passage way leads to the adjoining door between the farm and the barn, and then onto the master bedroom with wrought iron bed and stunning views out over the water and fells beyond. The bedroom benefits from a newly fitted en suite bathroom, with bath, shower over, sink and w.c.
Further along the upper landing is the second bedroom, which has a double bed, and the benefit of its own wash hand basin. The third bedroom is a twin room also with wash hand basin, and the last upstairs bedroom is a double room with king size bed, and ensuite bathroom hidden through mirrored doors. Also upstairs is an additional shower room and separate toilet.
The garden is well laid out with a small stream & wonderful views over the water. A large patio with stunning views is accessed from the kitchen with steps leading down to the lower level of the shared garden with grassed area.
The house benefits from professionally fitted wireless broadband that runs across all 3 properties. Plenty of parking for 4-5 cars in the lower car park.
What's included?
We want our holiday cottages to be a 'home for home'. All the beds are made up ready for you, towels are included so no need to bring those, and shower mats are also provided. Two tea towels and a set of oven gloves/oven cloth will be in the kitchen along with a starter pack that includes: washing up liquid, kitchen roll, toilet roll, basic cleaning products, a bin bag in each bin and a few dishwasher tabs. This is just to 'start you off'; you will need to buy your own once these have run out.
Please note: Stag and hen parties are not permitted at this property. Dale End Farm shares a small part of the garden with Dale End Barn - this has its own patio area in the lower section of the garden with its own picnic bench and stunning views.
