Description

This stunning property sits perched high above the cliffs and coastline of Woolacombe, the panoramic views across the bay are unrivalled and perhaps some of the finest in the area.  Harrolds Lodge was designed in the arts and crafts era, this versatile accommodation will surely offer families a memorable holiday.

For walkers or surfers this area has something to offer everyone from the wild headland of Morte Point which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and affords visitors the chance to see kestrels or walk on the coastal path to spot seals basking in the secluded coves below.

Woolacombe itself provides a variety of activities to entertain families on holiday whatever the weather. The beach boasts three miles of golden sands, and a range of on-the-water activities including surfing, sea kayaking, windsurfing and stand up paddle boarding. Swim safely in Woolacombe’s lifeguarded waters or relax on the soft, fine sands, the village itself has an array of eateries, cafes, ice cream shops and surf hire, or why not visit Barricane beach café that transforms itself into a great Sri Lankan restaurant and takeaway every night during the summer.

The property has a large entrance hall leading to the dining room and then through to the kitchen with its range of modern grey units, sit at the breakfast bar in the morning and just unwind with that morning cup of coffee, taking in those views.  The utility area houses the washing machine and dishwasher.  You have three ground floor bedrooms, a shower room and family bathroom.  The lounge has several sofas and a woodburner providing a retreat for cooler evenings.  The landing with its stained-glass window provides a hue of light as you take the stairs to the first floor.  A family bathroom is at the top of the stairs and a further two bedrooms both spacious and with wooden floors.  The snug room has breath taking views and a sofa for two, this will offer a tranquil retreat away from the rest of the family.

Reviews

Very comfortable house in a beautiful location overlooking the sea and Woolacombe beach. Well furnished with all the necessary kitchen equipment.

Mr A,

Cottage is in an amazing location with glorious views. Spacious and well equipped property. We enjoyed the walk into Woolacombe and ideal for exploring Combesgate and Barricane beaches.

Mr R,

Harrold Lodge is the most amazing holiday home with great space for a family holiday. We were there with our our children and grandchildren and could not have wished for a more perfect holiday home. The owners have thoughtfully provided a good supply of kitchen equipment, board games and beach body boards/fishing nets etc which were gratefully used! Very comfy beds and soft towels. The spectacular views of the bay and the sound of the sea make it such a special location. It was very difficult to leave but we hope to return in the future! Thank you!

Mrs B,

Didn't disappoint, but didn't over-deliver either.

Mr A,

The location of the lodge and views would be hard to beat. The accommodation wants for nothing in terms of space, layout and equipment. We would definitely go again.

Mr M,

We loved our stay at Harrold Lodge celebrating birthdays. The house is so homely and well equipped and the views are amazing. Although there were nine of us and two dogs, there was plenty of space - especially as we were lucky with the weather and could use the lovely garden too. We would definitely return!

Mrs B,

The property is truly amazing. It offers a majestic view out over the coastline and beaches and is a wonderfully comfortable home from home. The owners have thought of everything, there wasn’t a single item missing from the house. We stayed for Christmas and used the house to the max during two fierce storms. The house provided safe shelter and was the starting point for many wonderful walks around beautiful countryside and to great pubs and restaurants. We can’t wait to go back!

Mrs J,

I have been booking holidays in North Devon through Original Cottages / Marsdens for many years and have always been very happy with the quality of the properties and the service.

Mr Rowan A,

Excellent location, a house where the views will not disappoint.
