Description

From the moment you arrive, you will be taken by the wonderful sense of light and comfort as you sink into a very Cornish life in this well-presented semi-detached cottage. Exposed beams and granite walls keeps the Cornish cottage feel alive, decorated to complement the location. Two comfortable bedrooms, its own parking and the garden patio to soak in the Corish sun. A short 10-minute drive will take you to Penzance, well-known for its arts and literary scene. Offering plenty of independent shops, restaurants and bars. Be sure to visit Marazion, east of Penzance, most renowned for being home to the iconic, fairy-tale castle of St Michael’s Mount. At low tide you can stroll across the causeway to the small island. Wonderfully presented and well-equipped throughout. Situated in a small hamlet, Mary-Rose Cottage holiday home has plenty to offer, a real home from home.

Mary-Rose Cottage is ideally situated for exploring the whole of Cornwall. Located less than a 5 minute drive or half an hour walk away from the newly upgraded St Erth railway station. From here you can travel the scenic 10 minute journey, along arguably the best train line in the UK to stunning St Ives, or this fantastic transport hub also offers regular links to other destinations throughout Cornwall. Why not try this stress-free method of transport during your holiday? Or maybe take a walk along the promenade at nearby Penzance and take a dip in the Jubilee Pool, a popular seawater lido and geothermally heated pool.

Reviews

Lovely little cottage in a great location for exploring. The cottage is small but very well equipped and with the secure front patio is ideal for letting the dogs roam at leisure. There is some traffic noise as expected from the A30 which is a stones throw away but this didn't bother us at all.If you leave the property and turn left along the lane you are in open countryside within minutes which offers some great walks and views especially from Tencrom Hill. The welcome back containing cream tea, biscuits and milk was very welcome after a long journey and the beds are so comfortable... Loved the stay and would certainly consider booking again :)

Mr G,

Good public transport access and conveniently located for the very south west

Mr M,

The cottage is quaint as you would expect but just not adequate for two adults and two children. There is all the equipment you would need to do the basics but the space was a real issue; there isn’t a door that leads to a back garden so it can feel claustrophobic at times. This would be better suited to two people max.

Mr L,

We have stayed at Mary Rose twice now as it is in a really good location for being able to travel to different places we like to visit. Also as it is just off the A30, we can leave the car at the cottage and get an all day family bus ticket to St Ives, Penzance and many other places. Parking and being dog friendly also make it great for us

Miss E,

It was lovely. We both enjoyed our stay a great deal.

Mr G,

Perfect location to take advantage of the excellent and cheap bus and train services. Hardly used my car. Lovely cottage.

Ms E,

Had a lovely first stay at Mary-Rose cottage. The place was very modern and clean. Felt like home from home. A nice welcome with scones, jam, cream and milk!! We will definitely be coming back again! Thank you so much!

Miss B,

Such a lovely cottage, it had everything we needed, very well equipped and immaculately clean. Perfectly situated for exploring around that area, St Ives, Penzance, Lands End and lots of tin mines all within half hour drive. If you don’t mind walking the train station is only half hour walk with services to St Ives and Penzance only costing £4 return, St Ives train ride is a must the views were spectacular, it hugs the coastline. Also bus stops just outside the cottage along the main road with very regular services to surrounding areas too. The conservatory is lovely for just sitting, relaxing and taking it all in, door open sun coming in, eating breakfast just perfect.

Mrs D,

This is a lovely cottage in a great location for exploring such a wonderful area. It is well equipped and very clean. It has the added bonus of a large private parking space and a lovely little garden area .

Mrs G,

Lovely cottage for the two of us. Fully equipped and very central to everything. Was very clean, and even though it was near the road we didn’t really notice any noise from cars even with the windows open.

Mrs P,

Location

Located on the north coast in the far west of Cornwall, Hayle is nestled in St Ives Bay only 5 miles from the town itself.  The ideal destination for an outdoor holiday - positioned at the mouth of an estuary famed for quality bird-watching and served by 3 miles of golden sandy beaches perfect for a variety of watersports.  There are fantastic countryside walks to be enjoyed, unsurprising as Hayle was the first town in Cornwall to be given the "Walkers Are Welcome" award.  Steeped in history, much of the town including the historic harbour is part of a designated World Heritage site.

Paradise Park, an award winning wildlife park and indoor play centre, is situated in the town and there are many other attractions close by.  There's plenty to do and see in the area with a host of villages and coves to explore and the town of Marazion, gateway to the world famous St Michael's Mount, is only a 15 minute drive.  The amazing island, cut off by the tide twice a day is well worth a trip to see its gardens, castle and village.
