Reviews

The cottage was very clean, comfortable and in a very good location.

Mrs M H,

A comfortable and surprisingly spacious cottage in a great location. A short walk into town and all its attractions and shops, and near the railway station. A handy location for visiting the local area. The cottage is well equipped with a good sized fridge and freezer. Considering its central location the Mews is very quiet. We visited at Christmas and the car park was empty, I wouldn't want to park a large car if the Mews was busy as it would be very tight. The wi-fi was very good. We had a nice welcoming pack with milk, eggs, bread and biscuits - a nice touch. A minor grouse is that the pillows are lumpy and the bath towels a bit skimpy. Overall we had a great stay.

Mr C,

A lovely holiday home, well-appointed and homely. It was a great place for our week's stay, enjoying spending time in the property and around Rye and the area. Coming from a similar property, the two of us were very pleased to be in a place that was more modern (compared to the characterful but old/low/less insulated/expensive cottages around). Had everything we needed and found the beds comfortable. There is a bit of road noise but not disturbing (will depend very much on what you are used to). We heard no other noise from people/neighbours. It is located on the edge of the town centre (which we appreciated) so a slight walk into the very centre but only a slight one - Rye is small! Being in a private cul-de-sac means there is no tourist footfall past your windows which there is in other places in the centre. A parking space right outside is highly valuable. Needs a bit of minor maintenance TLC but not an issue. We highly recommend it and we would definitely stay again. Thanks.

Mr V,

This is our 3rd visit to the Forge Mews cottage. The cottage is spacious and comfortable. The welcome package is much appreciated too. The cottage is very placed in Rye and having a designated parking bay is such a bonus. The town of Rye and surrounding areas are such a delight to visit. We would highly recommend the following pubs for lunch - The Red Lion at Brede and The Two Sawyers at Pett Level. Also a walk to Rye Harbour and the Discovery centre is a must. We will hopefully return next year.

Mrs P,

We had a lovely break staying at this property. The welcome package was wonderful. The property was very well stocked - it wanted for nothing. The location was excellent - we were able to walk everywhere. We would highly recommend the fish and chip shop next door.

Mrs E,

Forge Mews is an wonderful property, perfectly placed for exploring Rye. It is very comfortable and very well equipped, and parking is plus in Rye. The welcome items were a lovely bonus, it's those extra touches that make the stay more memorable. Would definitely love to come back.

Miss S,

The cottage is ideally situated only a few minutes walk from Mermaid Street and the surrounding coast and countryside. A real home from home would definitely recommend.

Mrs A,

Lovely house in a very good location in Rye. Secure parking was a bonus, and the house was welcoming and clean and the welcome pack was a nice surprise. The twin bedroom was a good size, the proximity to the family bathroom was excellent but the beds need to be replaced if let for adult occupancy.

Mrs T,

This was our 4th stay in 1 Forge Mews Cottage ( we first came in 2014) and it won't be our last). The house is beautifully clean and cosy with everything we needed. This time we stayed as a couple but we have stayed as a foursome in the past and there is plenty of space. The Welcome pack was much appreciated. The place is very well appointed. There is a full fridge/freezer, a microwave, nice dual fuel cooker, a dishwasher and washing machine. The location is perfect and the dedicated parking space is so useful in Rye. We used the buses and walked everywhere in Rye- a beautiful town with much history and excellent pubs ( the Waterworks is a gem) and restaurants. We thoroughly recommend Number 1 and Original Cottages looked after us very efficiently

Mrs S,

Ideal place to stay in Rye

Mr B,

This is our second time staying at the cottage. We really enjoy the comforts of the cottage, ideally placed for walking into Rye town. Also having parking on site is a real bonus. Overall we have enjoyed our stay at the cottage and we look forward to staying there again soon.

Mrs P,

This cottage has every think you need for a great holiday for a winter and lwould love to go back in the summer and would hope it would be as good as a winter holiday and thanks to the owner for a loverly welcome pack and a loverly warm house.

Mr D,

The location is lovely, close to the river and to the intriguing town of Rye. The mews gates mean the cottage is very quiet and private, including the dedicated parking place, yet still very central to the town itself. The rooms are not large, but neither are they claustrophobic or cluttered. The kitchen is well-equipped, and so is the very generous bookshelf!

Mr U,

This is the second time we have stayed at Forge Mews. The location is extremely good, being right by the town centre, and just a short walk to the main supermarket and the railway station. Parking is nice and safe, right by the property. The rooms are comfortable and spacious.
