Description

Down winding lanes, through woods and rolling pastureland you will be enthralled as you finally arrive at The Bryer. The spectacular setting will take your breath away and the cottage is quite simply enchanting. Magnificent oak beams, vaulted ceilings and luxurious finishes make this a very special countryside retreat in a beautiful vineyard setting. If you tire of the peace and quiet or wandering through the vines, it is only a short drive to Rye with its cobbled streets, historic buildings and great specialist shops and a few minutes further are the seven miles of beautiful golden sandy beaches at Camber - so really something for everyone, young or old, to enjoy.  The Bryer can be booked in conjunction with its sister property, Owl House RH1151, to sleep a total of  up to 6 people, making this a great place to share with family and friends.

Reviews

Good housing but with poor access

Mr D,

What a beautifully built, equipped and located cottage. We couldn’t fault it! The owners, who are incredibly warm and welcoming, have thought of everything! The drive along the dirt track for 1.8 miles is fun and quite an experience! It was a great base to explore the area but nobody gets anywhere quickly! It’s a great area to slow down your pace of life!

Mrs O,

Really lovely accomodation! Very comfortable, extremely peaceful surroundings. Would definitely visit again.

Mrs J,

Excellent location. Very quiet, but really well positioned for exploring East Sussex and Kent

Mr C,

We had a lovely stay. The property was very clean and was in the perfect location. Beautiful views of the countryside and very peaceful.

Mr O,

A very sympathetic and tasteful modernisation has converted The Bryer into a wonderful holiday cottage. Although accessed directly off an existing farmyard opposite the owner's house, the property is very private as the main aspect opens up in the opposite direction onto fields and small vineyard, with extensive views beyond of the Rother Valley. The property is very comfortable, clean and well equipped, and the owners are very welcoming and helpful. The access road is gravel for about a mile off Hobbs Lane, on the outskirts of Beckley, but once on the main road through the village there are many interesting places to visit within easy driving distance - Great Dixter, Sissinghurst Castle, Scotney Castle, Battle Abbey and the Kent and East Sussex Heritage Railway to name but a few. For a first time visit to East Sussex it couldn't be better.
