Description

Stunning sea views from this cottage make it a special place for holidays. The tidy Victorian terraced property sits just across from the National Trust headland of Morte Point with spectacular coastal views across to Hartland Point and out to Lundy Island. These views can also be enjoyed from the front area of decking where patio furniture gives the option for al fresco dining. There are also attractive countryside views from the rear as the cottage backs on to National Trust land. The roomy living area has a traditional stone fireplace with attractive brick trim creating an eye-catching focal point while the compact but functional kitchen is towards the rear of this open plan area. Beyond the kitchen is another patio area.

Mortehoe Heritage Centre recounts the area's rich maritime history. Mortehoe is the starting point for many scenic walks along this dramatic stretch of coastline. Just north of the village, and reached only on foot, is Rockham Beach lying at the base of the 100 foot cliff; an ideal location for a peaceful day on the sand. Another great beach nearby is Barricane beach just on the outskirts of the village. It’s a sandy cove perfect for families with low ledges that are great for jumping off. There’s also the wonderful, but seasonal, Barricane Beach café, serving up the distinctly un-Devon flavours of Sri Lanka. A short drive south takes you to Woolacombe, which has three miles of award-winning golden sands. Its beach has been voted number one in the UK by TripAdvisor guests for the last two years. It also holds the England For Excellence Gold Award for best family resort and was voted the Best British Beach in the Mail On Sunday. Lifeguards ensure safe swimming during the summer. However it’s not just the beach that brings visitors to Woolacombe. There's a wide selection of restaurants, teashops and bars

Reviews

Wow! We had the best week ever in Sea View. The cottage was cosy and welcoming like a warm hug. The views were spectacular and the location was brilliant. We were out, busy every day but coming 'home' was just lovely. The cottage was comfy and well equipped and the beds were great. We really didn't want to come home we loved this place.

Mrs C,

Cottage in nice village with lovely views. Beware you need to provide your own towels. Cottage had mice problems, which ruined our holiday, wife couldn't wait to leave. No attempt to refund for the substandard cottage

Mr B,

Great location with every that's needed for a couple or a small family. Cottage was warm and the bed comfortable.

Mr B,

Lovely area to stop. Kitchen very cosy with limited space

Mrs T,

Perfect location in a welcoming village, with pubs and places to eat. Lots of great walks from the doorstep. Great beaches nearby. An Ideal base for exploring North Devon.

Mrs B,

A comfortable cottage, with two sitting out areas. Ideally located for the small village of Mortehoe, with several places offering food, with easy access to many local walks and only a short walk from Woolacombe with plenty of shops.

Mr J,

A beautiful place. Very friendly people in the village. Very relaxing. Do need a car due to surroundings. Everyone was welcoming and helpful. Very relaxing enjoyed every minute. Would recommend it well worth a visit Would definitely be going again.

Mrs W,

Nice little cottage in an excellent location with lovely sea views. We had a lovely week in Mortehoe, just think it needs some TLC to bring it up to a standard for the rental price.

Mrs V,

A lot of great points -location, log fire excellent, as was Welcome pack. BUT unfortunately WIFI failed to function and no mobile signal either. As we had only booked 3 nights we decided not to take up our time contacting the company and no owner contact available.Disappointing and would not have booked if this was the case-it was a lot to pay for no internet access.

Mrs M,

Had a lovely stay but cottage very shabby definitely needs some attention

Mr A,
