Description

Sugarloaf Cottage takes its name from the woods in which it stands looking out over the most incredible views towards the Ashdown Forest. Astonishingly quiet and secluded - just the birdsong to break the silence - yet close to neighbouring farm house, barn and Oast, the location is simply breathtaking. The nearby village of Brightling is famous for its collection of fascinating follies, built by the eccentric Victorian squire, John 'Mad Jack' Fuller. They include the Needle, the Observatory, and the Sugarloaf - rumoured to be the result of a bet that Fuller lost! They are all  on your doorstep.

Reviews

Rural location and spectacular views. Cottage was comfortable for two and younger children. Good value.

Mr M,

Excellent property, this was our second stay in the last four months.

Mr S,

An amazing cottage in a wonderful tranquil setting. The views, the night sky, the woods, plus a lovely comfortable place to relax. The welcome pack was much appreciated. We will definitely return.

Mr B,

A really nice holiday home if you’re looking for a quiet spot. A great place to stay. Everything you need is available in the cottage.

Mr B,

My wife and I grew up in East Sussex but have lived away for many years. Our favourite area is the Weald with its history its people and the villages. However the location of the cottage threw another light on the views of Brightling forest we had not experienced before. A stunning venue with a natural peace and tranquility and an ideal touring centre for a beautiful county.

Mr S,

Clean quiet cottage with a well stocked kitchen. Great location - very peaceful yet within easy reach of the coast and lots of National Trust properties.

Mrs F,

Cottage was fine

Mr K,

Nice house in beautiful surroundings.

Mrs K,

Quiet rural location but a short drive to amenities. Love the wildlife. Had a great time, thanks.

Mr M,

Everything was as it should have been. One point for owner. The base of the wash basin unit requires anti-fungal spray to remove black deposits.

Mr Michael H,

Beautiful cottage. Very well kept and equipped. I would stay there again

Mrs Y,

Very comfortable property and good location for visiting the area. Single track road to property so be aware as limited passing places.
