Description

A warm welcome awaits you at this immaculately presented detached thatched cottage. Recently refurbished to a very high standard and beautifully presented throughout, Dulcima Cottage is an exceptional 4 bedroom family home.

The original cottage was built in the 17th Century, and has been extended greatly over the years to produce the fabulous house that exists today. The cottage offers a wealth of space and comfort and is ideal for families both young and old, or groups of friends. The drive way with car port has space for up to 4 cars and leads onto a fully enclosed and thoughtfully landscaped garden with mature shrubs and trees, children's play equipment including a wooden swing and slide, separate games room with table tennis, plus the piece de resistance; a large and well equipped BBQ hut that can easily seat up to 8 people. Great for al fresco dining in style all year round!

Downstairs the cottage benefits from flexible living arrangements with plenty of space for the whole family. The cosy living room with beamed ceiling, original brick fire place with log burner and a beautiful wooden mantel piece makes an ideal room for relaxing in style. The large bespoke kitchen with underfloor heating and bi fold doors leading out onto the garden is a fantastic sociable room with space to cook, sit round the kitchen island with breakfast bar, or relax on the comfortable sofa and chairs with large wall mounted TV.

There is also a stylishly presented, beamed dining room with staircase leading up to the first floor, a utility room with large fridge freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer, plus a separate cloakroom with sink and W.C.

Upstairs there's an elegant family bathroom plus 4 beautifully decorated bedrooms, 2 of which are en-suite. The rear bedrooms also have the added benefit of a balcony overlooking the garden.

Reviews

A superbly well equipped and comfortable cottage. Our party of eight adults and two babies had a wonderful time helped by the lovely weather and good location of the cottage.

Mr W,

This cottage is in an ideal location for those who want to get out and about. It is within easy distance of Poole and Bournemouth and there are other good places to visit close by. We enjoyed Monkey World and Moors Valley country park. Farmer Palmers Farm is great for little ones. The property is nicely extended from the 17th Century cottage. It is however very close to the busy road and there is road noise in the rooms at the front of the property. There is a nice garden and we enjoyed using the barbecue hut to toast marshmallows one evening. The seating area in the lounge is not really suited to more than four people and this could be improved. It is a warm property but the owners did provide fans in most rooms if needed.

Mrs O,

Both the house and garden were very spacious, comfortable and well equipped. We had everything we needed for a lovely family holiday. We were particularly impressed with how the house catered for small children - high chairs, stair gates, bed guards and even a monitor. The house is close to all kinds of attractions and beaches, and there's a great pub within easy walking distance. The only negative is that the house is on a busy road and it can be difficult to drive out without someone looking out for traffic.

Mrs R,

Lovely property, kids loved the garden and particularly the swing. Property was very comfortable and well equipped.

Mrs M,

Anonymous please. A well appointed, comfortable cottage with plenty to do in the area.

Mr H,

This is a well appointed cottage which provides a good base for the region. We enjoyed our stay there and would look to booking again

Mr R,

Dulcima cottage is a lovely property with a very well appointed kitchen and a garden that our 3 year old was obsessed with! We found it a comfortable and relaxing space to be in.

Mr B,

This is the third year we have stayed at Dulcima Cottage and again it provided us with a lovely holiday base for our mum to visit our sister and a great location for us to explore the local area. We had a wonderful evening using the BBQ hut, garden and table tennis room to entertain our extended family. A great holiday cottage.

Mrs J,

Amazing stay at this beautiful cottage. The facilities are fantastic, location is perfect! We go away yearly as a girls group with our children and this has been the best accommodation by far! The facilities they have for children are amazing! Plenty of space inside and out. Host is very responsive to any additional requests. Can’t recommend this cottage enough!

Miss E,

Enjoyable cottage to stay in with family. There were six adults and one child in our group and we had plenty of room and privacy when needed.

Mrs L,

Eight of us stayed for our friends 50th birthday, we had a wonderful stay lots of room the property had all we needed to cook and the beds were very comfortable

Ms H,

Dulcima Cottage was a warm and welcoming place to arrive to on a damp and gloomy Saturday in the week before Christmas. The cottage was spotlessly clean, and very comfortable, particularly the beds. The kitchen is well provided for (especially if you are doing 'real' self-catering), and the welcome treats of chocolate biscuits, four pints of milk (not the usual token one or two pints), and bottle of prosecco were a nice surprise. Since we were close to Christmas, it was nice to see a lit Christmas tree and some decorations making the cottage even more homely. The garden is large with many facilities, and if you have small children there is a slide, climbing frame and swings to keep them entertained. The only down side is that after driving into the property's entrance, the only realistic way to exit is to reverse onto a busy road, which is closer to the front of the property than the photo suggests. However, since the main cottage entrance is at the rear within the enclosed garden, there is no real issue for people on foot. Overall this is a good location for visiting many parts of Dorset, or just for local walks to the many nature reserves and open spaces.

Dr G,

A beautiful property with everything you could need for a perfect family holiday.
