Description

Old Farm Cottage is a beautiful and spacious two bedroom cottage which has been thoughtfully furnished with high quality décor. Situated on the outskirts of the popular village of Goathland, in a quiet location with beautiful countryside views and the steam train passing nearby. The village was put on the map after being the fictional setting of Aidensfield in ITV1's drama Heartbeat and this cottage used to be a bar for the Heartbeat cast staying at the hotel next door; however both have now been converted into charming stone-built cottages.

The cottage itself boasts private parking and a lovely enclosed patio with outside seating. Inside you will find a cosy and comfortable lounge with wood burning stove for you to curl up next to on an evening. Mixing traditional features with modern facilities, Old Farm Cottage offers a comfortable stay, just a short drive to the picturesque seaside town of Whitby and its surrounding villages on the North York Moors. This is an ideal haven for walkers and cyclists looking to explore this beautiful region.

Reviews

Lovely location. Spotlessly clean and trust me I’m fussy! Best holiday cottage I’ve ever stayed at! So well equipped. Would stay again.

Mrs R,

An excellent, comfortable, well-equipped cottage in a perfect location at the heart of the North York Moors National Park. It's a short stroll into Goathland, and to the North York Moors Railway station, ideal for travelling across the area by steam train. It's also a great spot for exploring the wider Moors, and the Yorkshire coast.

Mr R,

What a find. Fabulous location. The village is just big enough to have some shops, a tea room and two pubs.Highly recommend the Inn On The Moor just point 8 of a mile away. Don’t bother with the Goathland Inn! Spotlessly clean. Comfy beds. Just top quality from the towels to the fridge freezer and the washing / dryng machine which would be so useful to those clients exploring the moors on foot in the weather we had!. Top notch.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Mr B,

The cottage as such is very nice and homely, with very good appliances. But despite the appliances it seems as being orientated towards visitors staying short-time and who prefer eating out than cooking themselves. Which is a pity, in my view, as those of us staying longer than a weekend don't necessarily want to eat out every night. Location is absolutely brilliant, with moors views and almost none thru traffic. Absolute quiet. Oh, let's not forget, parking is on the kerb, some 100 yards away from the cottage. The parking pehind the house is of little use as one can't get in with a family car.

Mr C,

Excellent location for walks and local site attractions. Peaceful location and great moors scenery. Very clean, spacious. and well equipped cottage. Will book again another stay.

Mr R,

Loved our stay in this really sweet cottage. Set in a very quiet location it is close enough to walk to the shops and pubs nearby. The property is immaculately clean, beautifully presented and spacious. The kitchen had plenty of teas and coffees and is well stocked with utensils, great sized fridge and lovely cooker. Upstairs the bedroom is very comfortable with a good size bathroom and great shower. Several comments have been made about the parking. This really is not an issue at all. I have a Honda Accord tourer with a tow bar (16 feet long) and put it into the space at the back of the cottage with no problem at all. Reversing the car in was the way ahead -and my husband just helped with the guidance and moved the wheelie bins to the side in order to get it. Do not be put off by parking comments - the property is well worth the stay. We will definitely come back - we have been to Goathland many times. Our usual property was unavailable and we only booked this very last minute. So glad we did.

Mrs N,

This was the second time we’ve stayed at this cottage & we have just booked a third. Lovely place & a great location. Would highly recommend!
