Description

Tranquil but in the heart of the village, a beautifully fitted, warm and friendly apartment.

Location: Tranquility in the very heart of the village but only 200 yards from the beach.

As its name implies The Haven, a duplex two bedroomed two bathroom apartment is in a tranquil location, but yards from the beach and all the facilities of Beer. It has the privilege of terraced sea view gardens and private parking so rare in the middle of Beer.
We have owned it since 1998 when we completely restructured the apartment. Always a favourite with our guests it has continually undergone a  programme of improvements. In keeping with this continuing programme the spacious and light filled apartment is beautifully equipped and decorated. It’s a tranquil setting just yards back from Fore Street with its shops, galleries, pubs, wine bar and restaurants and literally two minutes’ walk to the beach where further cafés can be found

We believe that we have achieved a relaxing modern feel of quality, while preserving the charm of this late Victorian building.
Judge for yourself.

We look forward to welcoming you to the regularly rejuvenated Haven.

Reviews

We had a lovely 3 night stay at The Haven with our little Jack Russell. The accommodation was very homely, with lovely decor and everything you could need. The teabags, biscuits, milk and fudge were also much appreciated! The beds were extremely comfortable and the bed linen and towels of high quality. The resident neighbours were very friendly and welcoming. The location was perfect, a stone's throw from the beach and the Anchor Inn and Beer itself is very pretty and traditional with half a dozen spots to eat and drink in the main season. We explored the local area, with days out to Sandy Bay, Budleigh Salterton and Lyme Regis, as well as the donkey sanctuary. The tiny village of Branscombe is a must, the most picturesque little village of thatched cottages with a stream, beautiful gardens and of course a village pub! Dogs were welcome everywhere and our little Jack Russell loved it! The only issue as mentioned by others is the difficulty parking due to the nature of the space available but as long as you're careful and have someone guiding you not too much of a problem. We wouldn't hesitate to go back, thank you to the owners for such a lovely experience.

Mrs E,

Excellent flat & great location, stayed over Xmas nice little touch with the Xmas Tree etc.

Mr P,

Fabulous location and comfortable accommodation which provided us with a lovely weekend break

Mrs P,

A great little apartment in an arts and craft building. Well equipped for self catering. Well positioned for the beach, the local pubs and shops.

Mrs T,

We enjoyed our September stay at the Haven - Heating very efficient! Well equipped and comfortable, two bathrooms a bonus if 4 people are staying. Location in middle of village is superb - short walk to everything but still quiet. Only negatives are not much outside space , and some will find getting in and out of parking space a bit challenging.

Mr W,

The Haven is ideally situated for the beach, pubs and restaurants. It is also good for walking to Seaton and Branscombe - lovely views. Also bus service from Beer Cross good for visits to other local towns. Inside everything you need for a holiday is provided. Only downside is the parking. Unless you have a medium sized car manoeuvring to the allocated car space is challenging and certainly would put people off using the car every day.

Mrs H,

A lovely, comfortable house in the heart of Beer. The perfect location for a great holiday.

Mrs A,

The haven is a lovely apartment, been coming to beer for years it’s our favourite place. Had everything you could need lovely open plan living/dining room and kitchen , two big bedrooms both on suite . 2 minutes walk to shops , pubs and beach. The only negative we had was the garden area, there was no information stating which part of the garden was ours so we went off the pictures on the website and sat at the top of the garden, a lovely man came up to his shed and I asked him if we was sat in the right place and he very politely said no but it didn’t matter we could use his garden, felt a bit daft but he was very friendly, the middle garden is for the Haven , also the parking area is very tricky but cannot be helped.

Mrs K,

Location of property in Beer is great, close to beach, pebbles. Well equipped with everything you need. It is a an apartment above the shop. Very quite at night. We found the parking a challenge as even though it is directly opposite the apartment entrance at the rear. To get to it is very tight, down an entry and up two slopes. I do have a daily big car though.Normal cars would be ok

Mr B,

Another wonderful holiday at the Haven in Beer. Definitely will be booking again.

Miss H,

Parking extremely difficult would only recommend for those with small cars.

Mrs M,

The Haven was fantastic, great location, lovely and warm inside (early March). Beds very comfortable, all linen very good quality. Only reason for the lower marks for equipment is that we found the hob quite ineffective. Parking is tricky as has been stated by other reviewers but completely manageable.

Mrs J,
