Reviews

Great location for Branscombe beach if you don’t mind narrow lanes. Enclosed garden for dogs was great. Great walking from the cottage to the coastline. Plenty of comfortable seating and great heaters Parking for 3 cars. Pub next door (but no problem with noise) and another further down in the village. Thanks

Mrs L,

Pretty cottage set in one end of the village. Handily placed next door to a pub which served plain but well cooked food. Very low ceilings in places and stairs to toilet in night steep. appreciated the night light/torches supplied. within walking distance of beach and lovely walks.

Mrs K,

A charming cottage in an excellent location, ideal for dog walking, going to Branscombe beach and the Sea Shanty tea room or further afield to Sidmouth, Budleigh Salterton and the Donkey Sanctuary.

Dr J,

Super cottage with period features, great location, lovely garden.

Dr F,

The period cottage is beautiful and set in a beautiful location.it is near a fabulous beach and close to towns. The cottage is need of being updated to cater for the amount of people it's advertised to sleep! We had a lovely time and really enjoyed our holiday?

Mr H,

Gill Cottage was the perfect location for three generations of our family to get together for a short break. The cottage is lovely and provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Convenient parking for 3 cars; the adjacent Fountainhead Pub - a “proper” and quiet village pub with a good menu; and excellent access to the spectacular coastal path. Perfect!

Mr W,

Lovely cottage. right next to the Fountain Head pub and surrounded by great starting points for walking the beautiful hills of East Devon

Ms P,

Lovely property, the roads are tight but you expect this with its location. This property is lovely and next door to a country pub with another 20 minutes walk away. The beach is about a 20minute walk too so brilliant. The property is stunning and has everything you need. Plenty of parking also! The price is competitive too! We stayed as two families and with separate stairs to separate parts of the house with two bathrooms it was absolutely perfect!

Ms Q,

We loved the cottage - it was cosy and clean, and was also well placed on footpaths, and very near the pub! We had some problem getting the hot water running initially, and even once we did have hot running water we found that it ran out quickly (we could only ever get the bath a quarter full before the water ran out for example). It would be good to have some information about the hot water in the info book in the cottage. Apart from this it was great!

Mrs W,

A lovely cottage for a group of friends to stay for an extended weekend. Great facilities and clean. Would recommend. Everything was perfect.

Ms L,

The cottage was clean on our arrival and warm and remained warm and comfortable for our weeks stay.It was in a great location with walks from the doorstep and plenty of attractions within a short drive. It had plenty of off road parking within the cottage grounds,we were able to park 2 small and 2 family sized cars during our stay.

Mr L,

Great location & access to coastal walks. Absolutely loved our stay at Gill Cottage so comfortable and well presented. Lovely traditional pub next door with great food in a lovely village.

Mrs B,

Lovely and well equipped cottage with good parking and in a lovely village close to the beach and other east Devon resorts.

Mr H,

Gill Cottage was perfect for us, beautiful place and spotlessly clean. One small suggestion is that the outside furniture needs investment. A pub type table/ bench seat was very uncomfortable as no back support so sadly couldn't sit outside all evening for dinner/ drinks. Also, the property sleeps 8 and the seating is really only for 4 to eat comfortably. The host left milk, jam, cream & scones for us, a lovely touch. Would definitely revisit if garden furniture improved. The area is so pretty and pub next door is great with no noise surprisingly! Overall thoroughly recommend.
