Cryode sits between two larger beaches, Saunton Sands and Woolacombe Sands and all three west facing beaches are very popular with surfers. Regularly the haunt of professional surfers, there is wetsuit and surfboard hire for those that just fancy having a go and a surf school for the uninitiated. You can even catch a Surf Bus from Croyde to Saunton Sands and back again.
Located on the South West Coastal Path, Croyde offers spectacular walking around the headlands with stunning views of the Atlantic. But for those who fancy something a little less energetic, try the deckchair cinema in the village hall for a quiet afternoon watching a film, but don’t forget to book as this is very popular. Finally, round off your day with a meal at the iconic and award winning pub, The Thatch, where you can enjoy a warm, Devon welcome and a tempting array of locally sourced food.
