Description

This holiday home is in an area of outstanding beauty with stunning views across the sandy beach, dunes and Saunton golf course which is open to visitors. Saunton Sands is popular for surfers, swimmers, kite surfing and other watersports with several cafes and restaurants to enjoy some local cuisine. Only 1.5 miles away is the pretty seaside village of Croyde with its beautiful beaches, an array of shops, pubs and tearooms, or take a walk along the South West Coastal Path with spectacular views. Other attractions include Watermouth Castle a family day out (13 miles) or for those more adventurous have a go at coasteering at Watermouth Cove with lessons all through the summer months. Exmoor National Park is 15 miles away with its stunning woodland walks and mysterious moorlands where you may see the Exmoor ponies roaming the countryside.

This property is accessed by an unmade private driveway leading up to this elevated holiday home. The entrance leads into a welcoming hallway where the warm and inviting lounge with glorious sea views is the first room on the right. There is a warming wood burner where you can enjoy relaxing on the comfy sofas whilst watching a movie with family and friends. When you want to spend some quiet time reading a book or playing a game then the snug room is the perfect place to chill. Leading on through the hallway and the large family kitchen has everything you need to show off your cooking skills and impress the family with a hearty breakfast or a favourite recipe and enjoy socialising with views across the beach. To complete this floor is a shower room and separate WC and also a utility storage area washing machine and tumble dryer and space for your prams, surfboards, and bucket and spades. Taking the stairs to the 4 bedrooms where there is a king-size bedroom, a super-king zip-link bed (which can be made into twins on request), a double bedroom and finally the single (trundle with additional pull out single). On this floor are 2 further bathrooms, a large family bathroom and a shower room.

The stunning terrace that wraps itself along the front of the property is a spectacular place to enjoy many evenings listening to the waves and watching the sunsets. Enjoy dining alfresco with the charcoal BBQ or relax in the bubbling hot tub. The garden is tiered and there is a grassy area where the children can play safely whilst the adults relax and plan the next day of adventure with a favourite beverage.  You can drive to Saunton beach within 5 minutes with its three miles of golden sands or for avid walkers it will take about 15 minutes along one of the may coastal paths surrounding the property.

A spacious property with a fantastic location and views, bedrooms and lounges beautiful condition, kitchen good but could do with a comfort upgrade. Heed the advice about only turning left into the driveway. Easily room for three couples. Happily recommend and we hope to return soon.

Great location and lovely property. There were 6 adults and a golden retriever and we didn’t get under each others feet. Had a minor problem when we got there that was sorted out double quick! Would definitely stay again and would recommend.

This is a lovely location and a short walk to the gorgeous Saunton Sands Beach. There are stunning views from the cottage. The cottage is comfortable, however I would not recommend more than 4 adults staying due to the shower situation and set up. The driveway needs work and a better system of how to exit, as you definitely need two people in the car, to see when it is safe to drive away.

Wayside is a beautiful spacious holiday home with fantastic views and a lovely homely feel ,close to the beach. Very comfortable beds and quality linen. Kitchen was well equipped and outside furniture was comfortable, although the BBQ probably could be replaced. The hot tub was a bonus and was clean and well maintained. We would certainly stay here again.

The property is perfectly located with a beautiful view. A short walk to the huge beach and fantastic Beachside restaurant. I would defiantly recommend to anyone, families, couples etc.

A gorgeous place to stay, amazing views and lovely, clean, comfortable house, we had a great time. Just be aware if taking dogs that garden isn’t completely fenced and do follow access instructions re turning round in Saunton Sands beach car park before driving up to property.

Great location! Nice to have the hot tub on the lovely terrace. Bedrooms were all good sizes. Kitchen had all the bits you would need when away from home. Our party just found that it wasn’t quite up to our expectations, seemed that it needed updating/refreshing in the bathrooms especially & the storage room was mouldy. The house was generally clean but could have been cleaned a bit better in areas. We wouldn’t return to this property just due to some of those bits we found to not be up to our standards.
