Description

A unusual and unique property, in a elevated position, offering spacious accommodation combining the old and the new. The original cottage has plenty of character, whilst the modern extension has produced a wonderful open plan living area, and a superb kitchen. Views of the River Dart from the main bedroom are a delight. There is a lovely enclosed garden, and just a few steps takes you on to a beautiful roof terrace with glass balustrading, and views towards the River Dart. The property is within walking distance of Dartmouth town centre.

Dartmouth, with its charming situation at the mouth of the River Dart, is one of South Devons most beautiful towns, full of history and heritage, surrounded by stunning countryside, and a scenic river location. There is a museum, art galleries, lovely shops and a multitude of places to eat. Enjoy the beautiful surrounding countryside, and walk on the South West Coast Path.

The River Dart offers opportunities for sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding, and boat trips, and you can even learn to surf at a local beach. Blackpool Sands is only a short drive, and considered one of the country`s top beaches. A short distance away is Slapton Sands, a three and a half mile stretch of beach with a neighbouring freshwater nature reserve, Slapton Ley, which is a haven for bird watchers.  Dartmouth Castle, Coleton Fishacre, and Agatha Christies former home at Greenway (National Trust), are great places to visit, and for the younger members of your party, there is Woodlands Theme Park amongst others. There is a choice of ferries heading to Torquay, Salcombe or Totnes, or catch the steam train (Dartmouth Steam Railway) from Kingswear to go back in time with a trip through the South Devon countryside. Slightly further afield are Paignton Zoo, and the wonderful Dartmoor National Park.

In the months of May through to November why not attend one of the many local events and festivals in the area like the Dartmouth Music Festival, Dartmouth Royal Regatta, Dartmouth Food Festival, Torbay Air Show, Brixham Pirate Festival, Devon County Show.

Reviews

Wonderful house and garden/ balcony, very clean, well equipped and comfortable. It is on a steep hill and should be noted.

Mr W,

Great location close to town. The kitchen and balcony areas especially pleasant. Some great views. If you aren't used to hills the parking arrangement can prove challenging.

Mr T,

Beautiful and well equipped cottage, marvellous location.

Mrs F,

We had a great week at the cottage. So many good pubs and restaurants in walking distance and so many places to visit. The cottage was very clean, very spacious and well equipped. The allocated parking space was a bonus. I ended up leaving the car there and just doing walks or using ferries.

Mr P,

The cottage was lovely in a great location it was great to have a garden for the dog and the balcony was an added extra just wonderful views . However the bedding and covers on the sofa had a few marks and the matresse in the main bedroom could do with a clean or a new one

Miss B,
