Tucked away within a stunning five-star estate, this idyllic retreat offers the perfect base to enjoy Dartmoor National Park with stunning scenery right from your doorstep. With onsite facilities such as swimming pool, luxurious spa, gym, children’s activities, tennis courts and much more you’ll find everything you need regardless of the weather. For those seeking a nearby excursion, the historic town of Moretonhampstead, renowned for its independent shops, inviting cafes, and classic car museum, is just a short 2.7-mile journey away. The cathedral city of Exeter is 17 miles away, a great spot for shopping and a wide range of amenities.

Further afield the coastal towns of Teignmouth (20miles) and Torquay (24miles) provide beaches and water-sports, and the city of Plymouth with its National Marine Aquarium (a fantastic attraction for adults and children alike) and the historic Barbican area with the Mayflower steps where the Pilgrim Fathers are believed to have left England on board the Mayflower ship in 1620 to cross the Atlantic and settle in America.

Enter this beautiful retreat from the back of the property and you’re welcomed into the open plan kitchen, dining, lounge area with free-flowing design and striking high beamed ceilings. You’ll find a fully equipped kitchen with dining table adjacent boasting a great space for meals. Through to the lounge unwind on the sofas with a Smart TV and open stone fireplace, completing this floor is a WC situated by the entrance. Moving upstairs you’ll find a king-size bedroom with en-suite bathroom, with separate shower, bath and WC. From the middle floor heading downstairs to your left you’ll find a super-king zip and link bedroom with en-suite bathroom with shower over bath and WC. Opposite the hallway there is the third bedroom with a king-size bed, double doors leading out to a small, decked space and an en-suite shower room with WC. Completing the lower floor is a utility room with washer/dryer and sink. The layout of this Lodge is particularly suitable to families with young children of groups of friends.

Outside you’ll find a gorgeous, decked balcony area accessed via double doors in the lounge, with lovely estate views enjoy a meal from the dining space and BBQ (charges apply) available or enjoy a glass of your favourite tipple with stars overhead.

On occasion the hotel has private functions in it’s lounges, bar and restaurants that may affect their availability to our lodge guests.

For Guests booking over the Christmas & New Year period:
- Breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner are not available in the hotel from the afternoon of 24th until after breakfast on 27th December and again from the afternoon of 31st December until after breakfast on 2nd January.
- A pre-booked Christmas day lunch can be ordered to your lodge along with a restricted pre-booked lodge menu for the evenings of 24th, 26th, 31st December and 1st January.
- The main hotel bar and lounges are reserved exclusively for our hotel package guests on these days between noon and 8pm, but Smith’s Brasserie is open for drinks
- Prior to 24th December, 27th – 30th December and after 2nd January normal restaurant & bar opening times operate.
