Description

Pirates View is the perfect home-from-home set in an elevated position overlooking Brixham Town Centre and Harbour. The property is within a 5-minute walk either down a slope or down 100 steps to the centre of the town. Brixham is known as the 'Pirate Town' due to it’s extensive history and that it’s still a working fisherman’s port. Each year Brixham hosts one of the most famous Pirate Festivals in the UK and offers an eclectic mix of restaurants, cafes and shops. If you are a foodie this is the place to be!

Pirates View has been renovated to the highest standard and is designed as an upside-down house to offer guests an open design with spacious social rooms upstairs that benefit from the views in the bright living room. Walk through the front door and you’re greeted by a hallway with the master bedroom off to the left. The master bedroom is a large room with ample storage and has an ensuite shower. Leading on from the master bedroom is a door that takes you out onto the garden with benches to enjoy the evening sunlight with a glass of wine. To the right of the hallway is the roomy twin bedroom with floor to ceiling wardrobes. The twin room and the third bedroom located on the upper floor shares the family bathroom located on the ground floor. The family bathroom is designed as a wet room with a free-standing bath, waterfall shower on the ceiling and an additional shower head.

Up on the first floor is a cloakroom and the third bedroom that houses a double bed. Continuing up a few more steps lead to the kitchen/dining area which has gorgeous granite worktops and is well equipped for all the family. Adjacent to the kitchen/dinning area is the living room with a huge bay window for you to enjoy the views of Brixham.

Reviews

Brilliant house, good location and fab views.

Miss M,

Great house in an amazing location

Mr M,

Pirate’s View has fantastic views over Brixham town and the harbour. It’s elevated, so is accessible by many steep steps or a steep slope; I therefore wouldn’t recommend to the less mobile - we loved the exercise though. Parking is an issue, as it’s limited and the streets are very narrow, but besides that everything else was excellent. The house is modern and styled nicely with all mod cons and the owners are very friendly and accommodating. Brixham is a friendly fishing town with nice dog welcoming restaurants and pubs. The coastal walks are beautiful, very hilly if you want to venture down to the coves, but well worth it. Salcombe and Dartmouth are worth visiting. Use the ferry to cross the estuary as the journey round is long and slow. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pirate’s View and would recommend it to most people wanting to visit Brixham.

Mrs C,

We really enjoyed our stay at Pirates Retreat and will definitely be returning. We were really comfortable there and it felt like home from home.

Mrs D,

Cottage had a damp smell as you walked in the front door and when you went into both downstairs bedrooms,we asked for a twin room but they were all double rooms but this was sorted with a phone call to the maintenance team ,the grout on the tiles in the en-suite shower was very dirty with mold which I pointed out to the cleaners and they sorted very quickly ,there’s a lovely big rug in the living room but was full of dog hair and we didn’t take our dog this time other than thes small things everything was perfect, only other downside was we didn’t realise how many steps we had to walk down to get to the town and parking isn’t good

Mrs C,

Pirates view is a really lovely place perched on top of the hill with lovely views across the town . Just about got used to all the steps up to it though not for the faint hearted But we all had a lovely time and would like to go back again next year

Mr G,

Great cottage for a weekend away with up to 6 people. As others have said, one of the double rooms is very small and you will whack your ankle on the edge of the bed if you;re not careful. Location is great and kitchen a good size, view as good as it sounds

Mr G,

Overall very good - had a fantastic time. House was amazing with spectacular views.

Mrs R,

The house was great quality, very spacious and a real home from home. There was everything you could need to have a lovely break. I’m going to miss the lovely views. An enclosed garden and off street parking would be amazing however we managed to park ok and we kept our dog on the lead when taking him out for the toilet. A bottle of wine and milk on arrival was a lovely touch too. I would like to recommend a door mat is placed on entry as not to dirty the lovely hallway, and a long handle squeegee placed in the wet room making it easy to sweep water down the plug hole easier. Excellent high standard and comfortable house, we would love to come back.
