A great place to take a walk, Dawlish Town Beach also has one particularly unique feature: a railway track that runs across its sea wall. Watch out for the trains as they whizz along the seafront - if you’re lucky you might even spot a steam train chugging along the tracks!

Dawlish’s other beach is equally lovely. Dawlish Warren is both a nature reserve and a Blue Flag beach, making it one of the UK’s most biodiverse and clean shores. Backed up sprawling sand dunes, the golden shore meets the blue sea at the edge of this gorgeous reserve. Overseen by the RNLI, families can be assured that this is a safe spot to swim and play and a day out at Dawlish Warren is always fun. With amusements nearby, including go-karts and rides, the fun doesn’t stop at the beach. To continue the traditional seaside activities, head up from the beach to find an array of fish and chip shops, including The Fish Bar, Warren Fish Bar, Chippy Chaps and Warren Chippy. 

For the adults, a trip to Dawlish Warren Golf Club will provide a scenic, sporty day trip. Wildlife enthusiasts will also be delighted by the natural life to be found at Dawlish Warren.
