Cottages in Thurlestone

If you’re looking for a relaxing coastal break, away from the hustle and bustle of the major South Devon resorts, then you have come to the right place. Thurlestone is a gorgeous coastal spot not far from Salcombe. We have a number of coastal holiday cottages in and around the Thurlestone area, including dog-friendly accommodation. With two beaches, some lovely walking routes and the best views of the South Devon coast, a trip to Thurlestone is always a good idea, especially when staying in one of our holiday cottages.

Things to Do in Thurlestone

Thurlestone is made up of two beaches: the larger section can be found near South Milton, while there is another smaller stretch of beach near the village’s golf course. Speaking of the golf course, Thurlestone Golf Club is open to guests who wish to tee off during their holiday and also has tennis courts. If sporting adventures are your sort of thing, then Thurlestone and South Milton Sands are the perfect place to try a new watersport. Surfin’ Sam Watersports are located on South Milton Sands beach and has paddleboards and sea kayaks available to hire.

Kayaking through Thurlestone Rock is one of the many reasons why watersports are so popular on this stretch of the coast, as it is a truly unique way to see this iconic ancient landmark. When you arrive in Thurlestone, you may recognise the rock from the works of Turner, who immortalised the mighty structure in his artwork.

Thurlestone is also a great destination for foodies. The Thurlestone Hotel has two prestigious restaurants that are renowned throughout South Devon. The Trevilder is the first restaurant and provides a fine-dining experience like no other. The Village Inn at the hotel is the definition of cosy pub dining and does a fabulous Sunday roast and welcomes dogs with open arms.
