Tavistock, a pretty market town where Sir Francis Drake was born, is just eight miles away, bursting with many small independent shops along with many antique and craft markets.  Dartmoor, with all of its open space and fabulous walking, lies just beyond.  Buckland Abbey is also somewhere not to be missed, a National Trust house and gardens with plenty to explore.

Driftwood is a wonderful cottage. The views are outstanding, and it was such a peaceful place to stay for a week! The cottage was beautifully furnished and had everything we needed for a week - the secure garden was a lovely bonus for our dog. A truly lovely getaway!

Miss B,

Fantastic views, everything you require in this beautiful cottage

Mr O,

Had a fabulous time in the property - an excellent retreat to rest and unwind after many days house hunting! Enclosed garden great for dogs - felt reassured that our German Shepherd couldn't get out! The view from the sitting room window/garden is stunning - assisted with the unwinding over a glass of wine or two...Facilities excellent, home from home, including use of a laundry room. Owner very pleasant, husband enjoyed the chats and THANK YOU for the welcome milk and biscuits, which were much appreciated. I encourage anyone thinking about booking to just book - you won't be disappointed. We WILL return.

Mr L,

Mr R,

So enjoyed our short stay at Driftwood Cottage. The property was very comfortable throughout with a lovely homely feel. The kitchen/lounge diner really is a Room With a View - absolutely stunning view of the River Tamar. The garden is a haven for wildlife and we really enjoyed being in close proximity to a female buzzard, pheasants, chaffinches and butterflies. We walked for quite a few miles along the Tamar and finished up in the Yard Cafe with a piece of the best apple and cinnamon cake we have ever had! (Homemade by the lovely housekeeper). Owner was very welcoming and although we didn't have any problems during our stay felt nothing would have been too much trouble. Thoroughly recommend this accommodation. We will definitely be back!
