Description

A delightful cottage, perfectly located in the centre of Bridport, with views over meadows and the River Asker. Bridport is one of the most vibrant market towns in Dorset, with an eclectic mix of events and cultural activities taking place throughout the year.

It has a vibrant art and foodie scene; there are various weekly and monthly markets, lots of excellent restaurants and cafes, as well as regular open studio and arts events.  Surrounded by some very famous hills, there are endless walking opportunities, as well as cycle trails.  West Bay is the closest beach, at approximately 1 mile from Bridport; with its stunning cliffs, busy harbour and recent ‘Broadchurch’ fame, there is much to explore.

Meadow Cottage is located along a lane, which follows the River Asker.   The meadows on the far side of the river are perfect for dog walking.  The cottage itself has been recently refurbished, and now has a lovely, light living/kitchen/dining room, with a woodburner.  The bedrooms are set over two floors; the first floor has a single room, with ensuite W.C/basin, and a master bedroom, with gorgeous views over the meadows.  The second floor attic is a fantastic children’s room, with two single futon beds, complete with special "comfort" mattresses. Outside, an enclosed courtyard joins an old rope maker's shed (useful for drying wet coats or storing bicycles), which leads you out into a long, large garden with seating, a BBQ and plenty of room to kick a ball around.

Reviews

Lovely location, room sizes and garden. Microwave located in an outhouse was an inconvenience when it could easily be housed it the kitchen. Front and back door sticking issues. No TV reception because aerial coax lead had worn loose. Reported to owner but fixed it myself.

Previous Customer,

Great location Very cosy and comfortable Log burner a lovely bonus Would return

Mrs B,

We loved the outlook over the Meadow and river while being in the centre of Bridport, and had most things we needed for a comfortable stay. Very good value for money. I can imagine the parking and limited amenities might be off-putting for some (not us).

Ms G,

Great location and great to be in Bridport for Carnival week and Melpash Show.

Mr W,

Nice clean cottage with comfortable beds. The location was nice - although slightly further out of the centre of town than the writeup had suggested. Very nice place to stay. the only major change required by the owners was the sofas, which were really uncomfortable (hence the 'Acceptable' rating for comfort rather than 'Very Good'!)

Dr S,

Cottage in lovely location close to town and morrisons

Mr C,

The cottage was in perfect setting ,lovely decor not very clean down stairs lots of dust , cobwebs .back door is difficult to close.window in back bedroom let's in lot of draught very cold .no Microwave

Ms P,

The cottage is the the ideal place to stay for a break away, it is extremely well equipped and spotlessly clean and warm. Everything about Meadow Cottage is wonderful ,the situation couldnt be better with the Water Meadows and lovely walks by the river and the sea so close, The street market on Saturday is so worth a visit Also the long garden at the back is delightful also the flower bed at the front so beautifully done by Rita, who was so helpful and kind to us. We cant wait to go back again..

Mrs M,

Delightful, cosy cottage with stunning views to Walditch Hill. Location great for all Bridport has to offer and only a 20 minute walk down the Monarch Way to the sea at West Bay
