Description

The cottage is packed with original period features, none more so than in the spacious living room with stone walls, beautiful beams, flag stone flooring and large inglenook fire place with working log burner.

The pretty cottage kitchen/diner with underfloor heating has everything you need for your stay, including a door to a delightful stonewall courtyard garden with seating and views of the Purbeck hills, perfect for eating al fresco.

Steep narrow winding stairs lead up to the large bedroom with dual aspect windows.

The cottage is in a quiet road situated in the older part of Swanage; the South West coast path can be easily accessed from the property and leads along the iconic Jurassic coast with breath taking views. The town centre with its sandy bay is around a mile away and can be safely walked form the cottage. Take time to explore the array of independent retailers, galleries and antique shops and relax with coffee and cake in one of the towns delightful cafes.

Reviews

Beautiful little rustic cottage with a fab log burner on the lounge to keep you really toasty in the cold evenings. Very characterful and charming and well located for easy access to Swanage and to the beautiful village of Corfe Castle.

Mr S,

See above.

Mr C,

Lack of daylight to lounge. Stairs are very steep and difficult to negotiate. Garden furniture poor. Location nice and quiet

Mrs S,

Property listing said there was a washing machine, there wasn't. Equipment in kitchen could be improved. Bur overall nice property, lots of character and comfy.

Miss M,

Nice location. Access to countryside easy.

Mr T,

A lovely old cottage, perfect for walkers. Close to footpaths to Swanage and Durlston, an excellent local shop, Indian restaurant and a fish & chip shop. Bus stop only 5 mins walk away. The cottage has a tiny courtyard garden which is pleasant to sit in, although is shady for much of the day. Definitely not for less mobile people - the steep, narrow, curving staircase is a challenge. Beware the low beam at the entrance of the stairs - it caught me out twice! The lounge is very dark - lights needed switching on during daylight hours. I imagine it would be cosy in the winter - the logburner would soon warm the place up. The main bedroom is large and light. Comfortable bed and plenty of storage. The single bedroom is cosy. The bathroom has a bath with handheld shower - this is fine however there is no shower curtain so we found it easier to sit in the bath to hair wash. It's a good 20-25 mins walk into the town and the beach - a little longer on the return as there are some uphill slopes. Overall, it is an ideal and comfortable place to stay, especially for people who enjoy walking.

Mrs H,

Cute, characterful little cottage. Rustic feel with all basic requirements, would benefit from a little updating. Stairs are very steep and need great care ascending and descending. Location fantastic for easy walking and bus access everywhere, we didn’t use the car for our entire stay

Mrs M,

We enjoyed staying at Forget-Me-Not Cottage. It was well equipped, clean and appropriately priced. Thank you.

Mr F,

The cottage is adorable….but listen to advice on mobility issues as the stairs are difficult…but add to the character. But a great location and the log burner was such a lovely comfort.

Mrs C,

A nice little cottage in a lovely area. Warm welcome with biscuits and champagne and a decorated Christmas tree. We stayed two weeks but as the cottage was advertised as having a washing machine be brought clothes for only one week. However, to our surprise, there was no washing machine, not in the kitchen, not in the bath, nowhere. Still we had a lovely stay.

Mr W,

Lovely cottage, a short distance from the local beach and the high street. Cottage was well presented and clean, with comfortable beds and sofa.

Mr J,

A cosy cottage in a quiet area of Swanage, a good base for exploring the Isle of Purbeck.

Mrs H,

Lovely cottage- good location 20 minute walk to beach (25 minutes back!). Comfy beds. Good lounge. Kitchen not best equipped (5 saucepan lids-2 saucepans, no wine glasses, dishwasher does not work). Good parking.

Mrs J,

Overall we had a very pleasant stay
