The cottage is of historic interest and was mentioned in William Masterman Hardy’s book on old Swanage. The High Street between the Town Hall and Townsend Road which was known as The Narrows after German bombing on the 17th August 1942 and the cottage was named after this.Today ‘The Narrows’ offers characterful accommodation with an exceptionally spacious living room with part vaulted ceiling, Purbeck stone fireplaces and flagstone flooring.

Reviews

Perfect location to explore the coast. The house has a really good amount of space and perfectly located in the town. Helpful instructions from the owners makes it easy to settle in and enjoy the property.

Mr M,

A beautiful grade 1 listed property which had so much character and was located within a few minutes walk of the seafront, station and a huge variety of shops, convenience stores, restaurants and takeaways. There was always ample on street parking so the lack of private parking was not an issue whatsoever. The large dining and living room area was fantastic and the garden was sheltered and ideal for eating outside.

Mr R,

A wonderful house in a great location. An excellent choice for a family or group of friends.

Dr S,

This is a lovely cottage with 3 good size bedrooms and a great lounge and garden. The bathrooms too are a good size, the kitchen is small but well equipped. The location is excellent - 5 minutes to the sea and shops. Parking up the road but can park for an hour outside so good for loading up etc. Swanage is a lovely town- great walks and places to visit nearby.

Mrs M,

Lovely cottage in a very central location of Swanage.

Mrs P,

A nice and quiet terraced house with a lovely back garden and terrace near to the centre of town and sea front. The kitchen equipment was inadequate. We had to bring our own casserole pot. There were no pint or half pint glasses. The larger non stick frying pans are worn and not fit to use. It was hard to cook for our group of 4. The top bedroom was difficult to keep cool at night as the only window was locked.

Mr H,

Fabulous cottage with plenty of space. Great location with easy quick access to the town. The garden area is great with sunshine most of the day, a really asset.

Mrs S,

A property of real character. Very spacious, sympathetically furnished and well appointed. In the centre of Swanage but with ample private and peaceful garden space.

Mr P,

Great cottage. Fantastic central location for beach, pubs, shops and walks to Durlston country park etc. the cottage is also really well stocked with everything you will need (eg clothes airer, cleaning equipment etc), highly recommended
