Description

For couples, friends or families, this charming getaway is located in an excellent spot to enjoy walking, beach days or exploring the attractions of the Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage site, a beautiful part of Dorset. Worth Matravers is a tranquil village with a green, duck pond and a pub which serves home-made, locally sourced pies and pasties, award-winning beers and home-pressed cider. Walkers are well served by the huge variety of trails in the area, and you can reach the coast on foot, too. Chapman’s Pool, 2 miles, an unspoilt cove with lots of fossils, is an excellent spot for a wild swim. Sandy Swanage Beach, a great place for swimming, sunbathing or water sports, is just 4 miles away, while Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are 16 miles. Birdwatchers may enjoy a visit to RSPB at Arne for a chance to see the largest bird in the UK, the white-tailed sea eagle.

Enter this charming, single-storey retreat and hang up your coats in the vestibule. Inside, it’s light and spacious, and has some charming features such as wooden floors and an exposed-stone chimney breast in the lounge/diner. This welcoming space feels like a home from home, with extensive bookshelves, a wood burner and an array of comfortable seating. After a delicious meal around the dining table, you can relax and spend an evening with a favourite movie on the Smart TV. The kitchen, another bright and airy room, includes painted, Shaker-style cupboards and plenty of equipment for the chef of the holiday, including a microwave and a dishwasher. The delightful bedrooms comprise a spacious double with an en-suite shower, a compact double and a bright and breezy twin, the latter two sharing a bathroom with a shower over the bath.

The south-west facing garden includes areas of lawn and patio, and has wonderful views towards open countryside. You’ll be able to park at least two cars in the allocated space, which is reached by swinging open a 5-bar gate.
