Heritage Cottage Holidays in Kent

The evidence of the past is no more apparent than in present day Kent. And we have the perfect holiday cottages from which to base yourself to explore historic cities, grand castles and traditional coastal settlements

Over the last few thousand years, Kent was traditionally the first place that saw trouble when invaders from the continent came knocking. England's various rulers responded to these threats by building castles across the county, which had the two-fold benefit of securing the country and giving us some fascinating buildings to look round in the twenty-first century!

There's grand Dover Castle, standing proud above the famous white cliffs, and the almost genteel Leeds Castle with its lake and 500 acres of parkland. Walk the halls that once felt the tread of Anne Boleyn at Hever Castle, see one of the tallest Norman keeps in England at Rochester Castle, or discover the past at one of Kent's other historic fortresses. Kent is very definitely the county of castles.
