Description

Westgate-on-Sea is a charming Victorian seaside town with quaint shops and two blue flag sandy beaches, Westgate and St Mildred's. The property is an easy 2 minute walk to St Mildred's beach and the public tennis courts, and it is only a 30 minute walk into the vibrant coastal town of Margate.  You can stroll into the centre of Westgate-on-Sea which has a good range of independent shops, restaurants, and a cinema. There are direct train routes from London into Westgate, so no need to bring the car!

Close to the beach, this well-positioned townhouse offers spacious and modern holiday home accommodation over three floors with 2 sitting rooms, 3 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.  The ground floor is open plan and has a sitting room, a dining area and a well-equipped kitchen. Outside there is an enclosed garden, perfect for alfresco dining. On the first floor you will find another sitting room with 2 large comfy sofas, a double bedroom and the family bathroom.  On the second floor there are two double bedrooms, one with an ensuite shower room. The property has been furnished and decorated throughout to a high standard, offering stylish and comfortable accommodation for all the family to enjoy with lots of space to spread out and relax.  The property is in an excellent position to enjoy walking to the beach or along the promenade to Margate in one direction or to Birchington in the other. Bring your bicycles and explore all the cycle trails or just bring your bucket and spade and enjoy a traditional seaside escape with all your family and friends.

We love this property because it is a happy home base to enjoy a traditional seaside holiday with family or friends, keen on walking along the coastal paths or just playing in the sand

Out and About:

Margate is within walking distance and offers boutique shopping, restaurants and cafes and the newly revamped Dreamland theme park. If you are looking for culture head to the Turner Contemporary Gallery to catch the latest art exhibition. You can play golf at the Westgate and Birchington Golf Club and miles of coastline can be explored on foot or by bicycle on the Viking Coastal Path which is highly recommended. There are several castles, stately homes’ and gardens, as well as Canterbury Cathedral to explore within a 30 miles radius.  Quex Park is a country estate with many family-centred attractions from a farm park to indoor activity centres and Reculver Country Park is also a recommendation for walking and enjoying nature. There are glorious views over Reculver Beach and the sea towards Herne Bay and the Reculver Towers.  Broadstairs (approx. 5 miles away) is another lovely seaside town on the Kent coast with a spectacular coastline offering seven sandy beaches. There is a surf school in Joss Bay and miles of cliff top walking. There is also a lovely mix of eateries and tea rooms and of course the famous Morelli's retro ice-cream parlour on the seafront. The small fishing town of Whitstable (approx. 17 miles) is full of traditional charm, maritime history and you will also find the freshest seafood here – the town is very famous for its oysters.

Reviews

Great location, great holiday home with everything you need for a self catering holiday. But also lots of places to eat a short walk away. Very near train station and close to bus stops. Had a lovely Christmas break.

Mrs H,

Ideal place to stay, 5 minutes walk to lovely beach, great if you have beach/sea loving dog. Both beach cafes dog friendly and people friendly. We only stayed for 2 nights as we travelled down for an event but would happily return for longer.

Mr E,

Perfect holiday home , everything catered for us and our dogs

Mrs F,

We had the best 2 weeks in this very modern, spotless , comfortable holiday home . Every we needed to hand , beach , shops and cinema. Looking forward to returning in March & October

Mrs F,

Absolutely beautiful property in a great location, literally a stones throw away from the beach. Property has everything you could need to make your stay comfortable and was very clean and tidy on arrival. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back

Mrs D,

Good house to stay in, all facilities available. It was clean and tidy, as well as being well-equipped.

Ms T,

Beautiful house, Amazing location. Very well equipped. Loved it. We used 4 towels and put the in the basket for washing, We stripped the beds we used and left them to be counted for laundering. All the pillows and towels we did not use we put them in the wardrobes or on shelves. Bins were put out and returned to the drive prior to leaving. Oven was washed out, all left clean and tidy. Thank you.

Mr P,

Very comfortable property & in a great location. 2 min walk from the beach & two great cafes. 5 min walk to local high street which has everything you may need. Definitely recommend but if you plan to take your dog, please note that your dog is only allowed downstairs, which is in fact just one room (kitchen/diner/lounge). Your dog isn’t allowed in the main lounge, which is upstairs & which you may plan to use in the evenings. This does restricts the use of the property quite significantly.

Miss B,

This is lovely holiday accommodation being very well presented with clean, well furnished and fitted out faculties and the benefit of some outdoor space. The location is ideal being 5 minutes walk from St Mildred's Bay beach which has two cafe/restaurants, both worth using. The local train station is 10/15 minutes walk away giving easy and budget friendly access to more of the south coast either going East or West. Ideal for out family of 5, would thoroughly recommend.

Mrs M,

Very well equipped and a great location comfortable beds have visited three times in last ten months
