Description

The Bolthole, perfectly described by its name, is a cosy yet spacious cabin for couples looking to escape to the countryside and immerse themselves in the natural world.  The cabin has been hand-crafted by its' owner using many energy efficient techniques to ensure you have a wonderful experience in the heart of the Kent countryside.  Floor to ceiling windows invite the outside in, allowing you to watch nature unfold.  The Bolthole has a clever roomy design with an open plan living area and fully equipped kitchen.  There is a linked seating area connected to the bedroom where you can sit, relax and read or watch the birds or the neighbouring sheep with open skies and wrap-around countryside views.  The interior living area is welcoming and comfortable with some of the smaller pieces of furniture having been crafted by the owner to fit perfectly into its surroundings.  Through the French doors there is a private decked area with outside seating and a fenced garden area with a hot tub.  In addition, there is also a central area with a utility kitchen which has two washing machines; one for the humans and the other is for your doggies towels and blankets, if they require a rinse. Reviews

The lodge is in a beautiful location, with floor to ceiling windows, surrounded by fields making it a very relaxing experience. The lodge itself is well equipped and maintained with plenty of cooking utensils and accessories, charging points for phones and towels provided, including separate hot tub towels. We arrived to a lovely hamper with bread, milk, eggs, home made jam, butter, crisps and dog treats. It is very dog friendly with dog towels, a blanket and even a dog bed if needed and the lodge is enclosed so that the dog cannot get out. The hot tub was well positioned in the grounds and added to the experience of our weekend. The hosts were extremely hospitable and helpful during our weekend, we would definitely re-book. There are a number of pubs in close proximity, we walked to The Three Chimney's twice and booked a roast dinner which was fantastic. The lodge is well located for visits to local vineyards.

Mrs C,

Very well appointed “plush hut” in a tranquil location. The Bolthole was clean, warm and perfectly comfortable for our two night stay during a very frosty January weekend. We really appreciated the welcome pack and being able to choose the bread and milk within it. Also it must be stated that this is truly dog friendly accommodation: not just dog tolerant. Towels and blankets were provided just for her as well as treats. Really wonderful experience. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Mr S,

Loved our stay at the Bolthole, it was very cosy and warm. Lovely secure garden for a smaller dog, hot tub was very impressive with fountains. Lots of extra amenities which are very much appreciated. Location was amazing perfect for a relaxing holiday. Highly recommend The Three Chimneys, very good local pub we had a delicious sunday roast. Ashford designer outlet is also a good day out. Owners were very friendly and attentive, overall a lovely holiday in Kent.

Miss G,

We have just returned from an incredible stay at The Bolthole. The hosts were wonderful and answered all questions promptly, nothing was too much trouble. The hut was spotless, and the welcome basket was such a lovely personal touch. Everything has been thought of. There is so much to see and do and so many lovely pubs and restaurants to explore. Three Chimneys was charming, with a great menu to sample. The hot tub was a wonderful addition to make the most of the tranquil evenings. A lovely long weekend was had, we will definitely be returning to sample the other huts on offer. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Mrs S,

The Bolthole was very comfortable, warm & well equipped. A lot of thought has gone into the place, shown by all the special little touches, especially in the kitchen & bathroom. This was our first holiday as dog owners so we didn’t know what to expect, but everything our pup needed, we had at hand. Thank you for giving us a wonderful week.

Mrs C,

We loved our week away, very relaxing chilled week, with a couple of short car journeys to a beach so our labrador Buddy could have a long run-around, he loved the beach & loved chasing rabbits at the bolthole. ( he never caught one) :) had few lovely walks in local woods too.
