Located only fifteen minutes from Folkestone, it gives you a peaceful base to launch your holiday activities.  The children will be enthralled with a visit to Port Lympne or Howletts - Aspinalls' wild animal parks; or immerse yourselves in the Battle of Britain Museum at Hawkinge; or take a trip to historic Canterbury: all within easy reach. Treat everyone to a day out in France, too - Folkestone for the Eurotunnel or Dover for a ferry crossing are only a short drive away. Shop: 1.3 mile Pub: 1.3 mile  Coast: 5 miles

Ground Floor:
Sitting/Dining Room is a lovely big dual-aspect room with an open working fire giving it a really cosy feel in the colder months. There are two, two-seater leather sofas, occasional table, Smart TV, dining table and chairs plus lovely countryside views
Kitchen has a tiled floor and provides an electric oven with gas hob and extractor hood, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine

First Floor:
Bedroom 1 is to the front of the cottage and has a double bed, bedside cabinets, chest of drawers with mirror over and wardrobe
Bedroom 2 has twin beds, bedside cabinet and small shelf unit. Wonderful views across the fields too. The wardrobe is built-in on the landing outside
Shower Room has a fabulous double shower, heated towel rail, washbasin and w.c

The cottage is nice and clean. However, it took us some days to feel at home because we missed a homely touch.

we booked walnut cottage as we were going to a funeral at nearby Barham crematorium . We had such a lovely peaceful stay, the location was so relaxing and there were rabbits, pheasants and horses at the bottom of the garden. We also visited Port Lympne zoo , and Folkestone garden centre which is just at the top of the road where we enjoyed a cup of tea and cake while waiting to check in . Walnut cottage is a beautiful place to stay and the sunsets are glorious.

The house is very peaceful and a fantastic place to relax, it is well equipped for families and couples to spend a week there. The location is ideal for us to see family members whilst visiting the many museums and amenities that Kent has to offer.

My family had an amazing Christmas and New Year at Walnut cottage. The cottage is set in a beautiful quiet location, but still has convenient access to the M20 to get everywhere quickly. The cottage was clean and comfortable, with a beautiful fire place for cosy nights in. Well equiped kitchen, beds were comfortable. Would stay again.

Walnut Cottage is in a lovey quiet lane surrounded by fields - it is comfortable and well equipped. There are lovely walks from the doorstep. It is 10 minutes drive from Folkestone and around 30 minutes drive to Canterbury. Our host was welcoming and helpful. The neighbours were also very friendly. A lovely relaxing place to stay.
