Reviews

We had an amazing stay here - spotlessly clean cottage with everything you could need and the comfiest beds :) We did not want to go home - thank you for the welcome basket too!

Mrs L,

A lovely roomy cottage in a great location.

Mrs R,

This is a prefect cottage for 6 people - 1.5 mile walk from Cartmel.

Mrs S,

We had a fabulous stay in Cark House Cottage with our friends and our two dogs. It's in a lovely little village next to a stream, there were lots of lovely walks direct from the cottage . The cottage itself is very spacious , with three lovely bedrooms, very comfortable beds and great showers. The fixtures and fittings are top quality and it was very clean throughout. There is a great takeaway Flounders in the next village Flooksburgh and the village of Cartmel approx 3 miles away is a real foodie place .it's full of pubs and restaurants . We ate out at 3 of the pubs ( which were all dog friendly ) and the food was excellent. You've got to try their sticky toffee pudding its amazing, You can buy it to take home from the village shop. We even had one included in the very generous welcome pack at the cottage. We would thoroughly recommend Cark House Cottage, it's a great base to explore the lakes and the coast

Mrs R,

We had the best week at the cottage celebrating my daughter's 30th birthday. The property is stunning inside and out. We were lucky to have sunny weather all week and made good use of the outside space. There is plenty of space at the front of the property for 3 cars. It is well secured with gates to keep our dogs in too. We were a party of 6 adults and 2 dogs and felt we had plenty of room for us all. The way the house is laid out is perfect, the lounge and dining area is upstairs but it is such a big bright room and offers much more space than you would have normally. All the rooms are beautiful and everything was spotless. There is everything you will ever need in this house and the welcome pack was a lovely touch with some very nice goodies in it! Cark is a great base for visiting the area. We used the bus into Cartmel and took a train ride into Grange over Sands and also Arnside. Would definitely recommend using the train as it was quick and no worries with parking. Would definitely recommend this property and we hope to return in the future.

Mrs N,

Lovely cottage with home comforts and really well equipped

Mrs P,

Lovely big cottage well situated in Cark village. Very well placed for the South Lakes.

Mr M,

Despite the somewhat 'strange' lay-out of the cottage, this is a very pleasant property to stay in and we all enjoyed the peace and quiet of the location. we fully intend to come back next year if possible.

Mrs S,

A beautiful cottage, great location for coast and hills. So many attractions in the doorstep. Would like to stay longer next time to enjoy the village more and make the most of the outdoor areas as so well equipped. Thank you for a lovely stay we will be back.

Miss E,

The cottage is in a great location and is well equipped. The interior is cleverly designed and is set in a lovely place. There is parking for 3 cars, which is essential on the narrow lane.

Mrs D,

We had a lovely three night break at this beautiful cottage. The Welcome Pack was a bonus and much appreciated. The beds were so comfortable and we made use of the log burner for cosy evenings in. We couldn’t have asked for a more comfortable property. There were lovely walks from the cottage and we visited the local pub, Engine Inn, for a couple of drinks. Cartmel is only a ten minute drive away or a 40 minute walk (through the lanes rather than the main road as directed by a local). We enjoyed lunches at the Mallard Tea Shop and a Sunday roast at The Kings Arms. We will definitely look to return to this beautiful cottage.

Mrs M,

Good location close to Cartmel and good walking straight from the house! Comfortable and cosy house for our few days away before Christmas!

Mrs K,

We stayed in this beautiful cottage to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday with her family who all live locally. The cottage is beautiful inside with 3 double bedrooms which was great for us 6 adults and new born baby. The living area was warm and cozy with lots of space. wouldn't hesitate to stay here again as it has the Engine pub just at the end of the road and Cartmel is just a short ride away or a nice place to walk to which has lots of pubs and cafes to visit
