Description

The Dairy is in a fantastic location on the edge of Kendal with all the amenities the market town has to offer, yet tucked away with sweeping countryside views. It's a perfect location to enjoy the Lake District National Park.

The Dairy is set within a small group of dwellings on the edge of Kendal. The cottage has the added bonus of a wraparound garden to the back and side offering an incredible view of the countryside and fells beyond; it's a great space to relax and unwind after a day exploring with a glass of your favourite tipple on the bistro set.

Inside, the traditional stone cottage is all on one level, a spacious lounge area with Smart TV and comfortable seating, where you can access the outside area as well and enjoy those magnificent vistas. The kitchen/diner is equipped with everything you could possibly need for your stay complete with a dining table for two. The pleasant bathroom has a full-size bath with an overhead shower, great to soak those muscles after a day on the fells. The bedroom is light and airy with a double bed and is complemented with a lovely feature wall. There is plenty of storage provided.

GROUND FLOOR:

Entrance hall: Porch area, great for kicking off those muddy boots

Lounge: Comfortable spacious lounge, with sofa and chairs, smart TV. Dual aspect views and entrance to the garden/patio area.

Kitchen/Diner: A large well-equipped kitchen with gas hob and cooker, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine and fridge with small icebox. Dining table to seat 2 people.

Bedroom 1: Double bed with storage and dresser.

Reviews

Excellent location on the edge of Kendal and the cottage itself has wonderful views! We very much enjoyed our stay there. However, the interior of the cottage is very dated - I struggled with the concept of the carpet in the bathroom and kitchen, and the photos on the website are very well taken to maximise the desirable aspects of the cottage.

Dr K,

Lovely cottage in a very peaceful location. We loved it

Ms L,

Delightful, exactly as expected from looking at the on-line photographs. We especially enjoyed having a private out door space with a wonderful view. The size and layout is perfect for a couple, the kitchen is generously sized for a property of this size, the separate living room similarly generous, its easy to use and with good weather a really relaxing place to unwind being able to step from the living room straight into the outdoors with a spectacular view. Whether sunny or not, the view and scenery are wonderful. We could make a circular walk from the property which is always good on the first day, i.e. not getting into the car. The garden is well maintained and aids in the sense of privacy, the construction materials (dry stone walls) are redolent of the area. We enjoyed the nearby independent shops, Plumgarths and Lovingly Artisan

Mr H,

Very clean would recommend it to family and friends would stay there again

Mrs M,

Beautiful views. Cottage very nice. Bed too soft for us. Lounge very nice cooker and dishwasher easy to use.

Mr B,

Excellent cottage in great location, The amazing view from the cottage is an added bonus

Mrs M,

This was our 2nd stay at The Dairy. A lovely, spacious and very clean cottage. Everything we needed. Easy booking through 'Original Cottages'. Would highly recommend.

Mrs C,

Lovely spacious cottage for 1 or 2 people but at the end of a lengthy lane from main road which was impassable when snowed. Also too far to walk to Kendal as very uphill coming back. This wasn't clear in the description and would have been useful to know beforehand

Mr W,

The cottage is a great base to explore the Lake District from. Lake Windemere is only about a ten minute drive and you can be right in Kendal town centre within a twenty minute walk. The cottage itself was very cosy and comfortable, with a good sized living room and bedroom. Our fourth month old daughter was visiting with us and there was plenty of room for her cot. The only thing we would change is the flooring in the bathroom due to it being carpeted, however this wouldn’t stop us from returning to this quaint holiday home.

Mrs M,
