Reviews

The cottage is well situated for getting around the Lakes to all the favourite places, but is situated very close to quite a busy road. Saying that - it is relatively quiet inside the cottage. Overall its OK, we had a great week with fantastic sunshine throughout.

Mr J,

great property if you’re looking for that olde worlde rustic feeling . feels like you’re right in the countryside but only a 10 minute walk into the town centre… we would book this cottage again….

Mr W,

Lovely cottage in a great location for walking and sightseeing. Walking distance to Ambleside, Skelwith Bridge and Wray Castle. Bus services go from practically outside the door. Cottage is cosy and comfortable. The AGA is easy to use and the kitchen is very well equipped.

Mrs H,

We had a lovely holiday at Crag Cottage. It is perfectly situated to explore all of the Lakes and although on a busy road you are not aware of any traffic noise. The cottage was full of character and very warm and cosy. The rooms are very spacious and the owners have thought of everything you could possibly need. It was also great to have parking spaces close to the cottage. We will definitely be back.

Mrs B,

A beautiful holiday cottage, great location, clean, comfortable and warm.

Mrs W,

the cottage was lovely and very comfortable. Everything of the highest quality. One of the best we have stayed in and the location is perfect.

Mrs H,

Good location able to get to Ambleside and Lake Windermere without car. Bus, very convenient to get all over the Lakes. Cottage well equipped and comfortable. Parking good.

Dr C,

The cottage is beautiful, clean and comfortable with a lovely view from the upstairs main bedroom - I couldn't fault it.

Miss V,

Crag Head Cottage is a lovely cosy property. There was plenty of room for us and our 3 teenagers. Comfy beds and sofas, very well-equipped kitchen, decent showers. The walk into Ambleside takes about 20 minutes along a fairly busy road. Despite the cottage facing the main road, we didn't find it noisy. The courtyard garden is probably delightful in the sunshine, but we were not blessed with good weather!! The cottage is in a great location for exploring the Lake District.

Mrs R,

The cottage is warm, comfortable and immaculately clean. Beds very comfortable with lovely bed linen and beautiful decor in bedrooms in keeping with age of this characterful cottage. Very good for walks straight from the door and easy access to Ambleside. Would recommend.

Mr M,

The Cottage was clean, well equipped, nice and warm when we got the Aga up and running.

Mrs E,

A lovely cottage, well equipped in a great location. Very comfortable!.

Mr B,

Crag Head Cottage is one of the most comfortable places we’ve stayed at in the Lake District (and we’ve stayed in a fair few!) Everything needed for an enjoyable stay is provided. The kitchen is well equipped, the place is cosy and warm, there is a smart tv in every room, and the internet is fast enough for all your needs!

Mr E,

Lovely old cottage. Very quiet and comfortable. Great location near to countryside walks and close enough to the town. We enjoyed our stay here.
