Description

Stanhope is a superb modern end terraced townhouse and is based in the centre of Ulverston in the south lakes. Set over three floors, this excellent house has been finished to a high standard and is conveniently placed for those wishing to visit the south lakes district and surrounding area or coast whilst having all of the amenities to enjoy and explore within Ulverston itself.

Stepping into the property, the well-appointed modern quality fully equipped kitchen is on the ground floor to the right and is sleek with all modern conveniences, including a lovely granite countertops and tiled floor with a utility area off this. Also on the ground food is a WC and dining room, which has French glass doors leading to the rear patio area. A lovely spot to sit out with a morning coffee or glass of wine in the evening.

To the first floor is the living room at the rear, with very comfortable seating, Juliet balcony and a smart TV. Also on this floor is the spacious master bedroom with king size bed; this room also has a lovely contemporary en-suite bathroom with shower. Enjoy a TV and DVD player in this room, too; after all, you are on holiday! On the top floor are two more beautifully presented bedrooms, one being a twin and the other a double bed, which has velux windows and sloping ceiling and both share, with Jack and Jill doors, a super stylish bathroom which has a bath and shower. This bathroom is perfect for a relaxing soak after your day's exploring and activities.

This beautifully presented property is situated very centrally within Ulverston so is very conveniently placed to enjoy the pubs and eateries in this market town, even the arts at Coronation House. It is the birthplace of Stan Laurel and in fact, the town has a museum for the comedic pair, Laurel and Hardy, the only official one of its type. Ulverston is a festival town and has many throughout the year, from food and beers to flag and the famous  Dickensian festival, to name but a few.

Newby Bridge is under 15 minutes away from where the southerly tip of Lake Windermere originates, which has the Lakeland cruises, and step back in time and enjoy the steam train to Haverthwaite, which is here too. Also, close by, you have the delights or rigours of Grizedale forest and Coniston is also easily reached, whilst to the west you can explore the beautiful Duddon Valley, a slightly quieter but no less stunning part of the Lake District National Park. Ulverston is also just inland from the estuary and coast and you have this to discover, too, with your holiday party and not forgetting your four-legged members.

There so much on offer in this area that the only concern could be how to choose what to do next on your holiday and how to fit it all in! Well, just return and enjoy lovely Stanhope in all seasons.

We would like to clarify that this property is exclusively available as a holiday rental. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate contractors or individuals seeking accommodation for work purposes. Thank you for your understanding.

NB: There is one allocated parking space which has signage to the rear of the property. Due to its very central location, there will be some road noise to the rooms at the front of the property.

Reviews

The property was magnificent, very well equipped, and thoughtful touches.spotless.great location thank you,

Mrs R,

2nd visit and just as good as the first time. Lovely property, great location and thoughtful home comfort touches

Ms C,

This is a lovely house, located really near the pretty town of Ulverston but also the Lakes. Please note though, it is on a main road so there is road noise but that didn’t detract from the enjoyment of our stay. The house is very well equipped; more than most. The extra touches like supplying hand soap, spare toilet rolls, tea/coffee, etc are all above and beyond what we’ve had in other holiday homes. For days out, we’d recommend local walks up and around Hoad Hill and along the canal to the estuary (you can do a circular walk back). Further afield there are lakes, national trust properties, forests; we had so many lovely walks!! The town is beautiful with lots of grocery shops in a short walking distance and more pubs than you know what to do with! We recommend eating at The Farmers and the Rose and Crown. We had such a great trip and will hopefully be back again.

Miss D,

Went here for a weeks break , 7th-14th September, was absolutely great , this was probably the cleanest property we’ve stayed at , and it had everything you needed ,great touch with the sparkling wine, only thing was the noise , I think the young boy racers come out at night , just to race down the main road , but for comfort and location, really fantastic, I will go back again, and this time bring my earplugs. Thank you once again for a great house a great clean house

Mr M,

Excellent property- home from home with everything we needed - all kitted out to a high spec- like a hotel but cosier! Although the property is on a main road, this did not detract from our stay - as we are right in the centre of town -handy for shops, pubs and restaurants and easy access for countryside walks with the dog. There is a small outdoor patio at back, but not enough space for a dog to "relax" - so the dog has to be walked a short distance to find some green space. There is a small park only 5 minutes walk from the property where dogs can be exercised freely, and plenty of excellent country walks locally such as Hoad Hill and Ulverston canal. Ulverston itself is a small, friendly town with plenty of amenities- and then for further afield, it is situated right on the edge of the Lake District accessible by car.

Mrs W,

Lovely house, well equipped and very clean. Good location for exploring.

Mr B,

Lovely property, perfect location, thoughtfully supplied with provisions. Dogs are welcome and some great places to walk nearby. Lots of good food places in walking distance.
