The Holkham Estate is in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and home to Holkham Hall, which sits proudly at the centre of the Estate with far-reaching views over the 25,000-acres of historic parkland and woodland. One of the region’s finest and most recognisable Palladian country houses and the ancestral home of the Coke family for more than 400 years. The grounds are ideal for cycling and feature many themed walks and trails, with bike hire available close to the courtyard, restaurant and gift shop. You can even take to the water on the lake during the warmer months of the year. Just outside the walls of Holkham Park is Lady Anne’s Drive which leads down to the wide-sweeping sands and big skies of the dog friendly beach, bordered by pine woods. You will also find yourself spoilt for choice when looking to eat out. The Victoria Inn in the Holkham village serves fantastic local, seasonal cuisine from dawn to dusk, whilst lunch can also be enjoyed at the Hall’s Courtyard Cafe or the Beach Cafe slightly further afield in Wells-next-the-Sea. Wells-next-the-Sea is a charming coastal town with its iconic beach huts and picturesque harbour where you can enjoy fresh shell fish or the catch of the day. Other delights nearby are Burnham Market and its sister villages, Brancaster, Cley-next-the-Sea and the town of Holt to name just a few.

Reviews

Really wonderful peaceful stay in a comfortable ‘folly’. One week wasnt long enough to see everything. Hoping to be back. All the staff we met at Holkham establishments were superbly helpful and friendly. Thank you.

Miss B,

Very comfortable accommodation and idyllic location.

Mr B,

A fantastic location if you like solitude, set well into the estate among woodland with wildlife in abundance including roe deer, owls, foxes etc. The mile long route in from the gates is through open pasture with herds of fallow deer and flocks of sheep, hares, and in the evening lots of rabbits. Holkham is a wonderful place to stay particularly if you are into wildlife, especially birding. The wildlife conservation area is close by as is the beach. The Victoria restaurant is easy to get to without coming off the estate where the food is very good. The lodge itself is very cosy and warm once the log burner is lit. (There are two radiators but not quite adequate on there own for us as at the time, february, as the outside temperature was close to freezing) It consists of one very large, comfortable bed sitting room with separate loo and shower room. Plenty of things like tea, coffee, sugar etc plus some very nice Holkham biscuits, both savoury and shortbread. There are dog bowls provided along with some treats in a tin.

Mr H,

Beautiful. Perfect layout. Fantastic facilities

Mrs L,

Beautiful peaceful location, been here several times before and will always look forward to a return visit.

Mr B,

Perfect and peaceful surrounded by the woods with pheasants and deer all around. Lodge was extremely comfortable with large bed and plenty pillows. Welcome pack was lovely especially the caramel and sea salt biscuits. Cosy evenings spent in front of the wood burner with a plentiful supply of wood which was restocked during our stay. Perfectly placed to access Holkham beach and the free parking was a nice bonus. Would definitely stay here again.

Mrs H,

Outstanding location that is ideal for a short break. A good base for exploring the estate and local area.

Mr L,

We loved our holiday so much. Best location away from everything Just beautiful. Thank you
