Description

This is the ideal coastal retreat to create special memories in a real home away from home. Boasting everything you may need for an unbeatable stay on the coast, we couldn’t think of a better base than this cottage which also has an annex with a sofa bed and shower room. Just 0.4 miles away you will find the village traditional pub with beer garden. Within reach is Thornham (1.5 miles), Old Hunstanton (3 miles) and Burnham Market (8 miles) a stay here offers something for everyone. For bird watchers the cottage is ideally situated with RSPB Snettisham (10 miles) and RSPB Titchwell (2.5 miles). Step out and discover walks on the dog-friendly sands of Holme Beach (1 mile) or the beautiful Brancaster Beach (4.5 miles). Visit Hunstanton (3.5 miles) with its traditional seaside fare, crazy golf and Sea Life centre for a lovely family day out, or visit the famous Norfolk Lavender Farm for a nice relaxing afternoon just 5 miles away.

This charming cottage has been lovingly restored to a high standard to offer guests a wonderful base from which to explore this fascinating county. The well-equipped kitchen offers all the designated chef of the day could wish for to lovingly prepare a light breakfast to a hearty evening meal and the dining room caters for up to eight guests and is fitting for any special occasion. The kitchen also has a contemporary feel with a breakfast island and four bar stools, ideal for your morning cuppa. The lounge has enough comfortable seating for all, so cosy up in front of the open fire and stream your favourite boxset on the Smart TV for a relaxing evening spent with loved ones. Completing the ground floor layout is a snug come study area which does have a sofa bed if needed and there is also a separate downstairs WC. Upstairs you have a master bedroom boasting a super-king-size zip-n-link (can be made into twins on request), with bedroom two featuring a king-size bed and bedroom three having a single bed. All bedrooms have ample storage space to hang garments or store personal items and there is a family bathroom. Outside in the beautifully kept enclosed garden you also have a gorgeous annex with a charming verandah to enjoy the late afternoon sun. that features a sofa bed and a shower room with WC so depending on your preference the sofa bed can be made up before your arrival and this, of course, will comfortably sleep two guests.

The enclosed garden with furniture is a perfect spot to relax on an evening whilst enjoying a cocktail or two and for dining al-fresco style whilst the sun goes down. An outdoor hot water shower has been installed a welcome addition to wash sandy toes and paws. An outdoor table tennis table is available for some friendly competition.

Reviews

We stayed here the week before Christmas for a birthday, it was great. It had everything we wanted for 4 adults. It was great for EV charging and a roaring log fire in the evenings was lovely. The Christmas decorations and lights on the tree was a nice touch. We will be booking again.

Mr H,

Lovely cosy cottage Very clean Well equipped Such comfy beds with gorgeous bedding Lovely open fire Lovely personal touches throughout this lovely cottage Care has been taken to make your stay comfortable and restful. We really did enjoy our 3 night break here at Amber cottage Despite storm Bert making outings of any length a bit difficult ,,, the dogs loved the beach walks !! We enjoyed the fire lit,, cosy comfortable and warm house playing games watching tv and relaxing with a glass or 2 Thank you so much xxx

Mrs G,

We had a fantastic few days in Norfolk made all the better by this comfortable and cosy cottage. Especially liked the log fire and the table tennis !

Mr C,

An excellent week in this very comfortable, cosy, well equipped and characterful cottage.

Mr W,

We loved Amber cottage, it was clean & felt very cosy too. Loved the location of the cottage being a short walk to the local pub and also to the beach ( if you cut through the local nature reserve, however there are cows which roam this field - so any dog walkers beware and keep your dogs on leads at all times ). The outside space was also lovely with plenty of places to sit and enjoy the garden which was very well kept and private, including a separate annexe, a bbq area and a full size table tennis table which we loved ! . There is also a lovely farm shop 5mins drive up the road with plenty of parking although it does get very busy sometimes & in the same location is Erics Fish & Chips (which is very good) Eric’s pizza restaurant which provides takeaway as well and is inside a yurt of all things, but lovely tasting authentic pizzas ! & an ice cream parlour that does coffee, teas, cakes & sweet treats etc .The only drawback is that the cottage is on a busy main road (the A149), but the off street parking is ample and safe but we thought that it may be a problem as both bedrooms face the road, but it was surprisingly quiet at night and to be honest we had no trouble at all sleeping and the beds were comfy too. All in all we had a lovely week at Amber cottage and would highly recommend.

Ms F,

We had a lovely time at Amber Cottage. The garden is well laid out, at the end is the barbeque area, with a table and seating to enjoy outdoor living. We were all very impressed with the cleanliness and it was very well equipped. The kitchen is small, but very functional, it has everything there that you might possibly need. Additional space can be found at the end of the dining room and downstairs snug/bedroom. It was great for us 6 Adults and 2 children and a baby.

Mrs B,

We had an absolutely incredible time in the cottage, working brilliantly. The garden was a lovely extra space to play - and the properly had ample parking. We will almost certainly be back to enjoy everything Amber cottage has to offer

Mrs C,

A well equipped, very clean and cosy cottage with a lovely enclosed garden, with parking for 3 cars. Four adults and two dogs had a very enjoyable 4 night break with good weather too. Would like to revisit soon. The local pub, within walking distance, is reported due to reopen in May following refurbishment.

Mrs C,

We 4 ladies can thoroughly recommend this delightful cottage for a stay within a short walk of the sea. The open fire and cosiness was especially welcome on a windswept March weekend. The cottage has truly delightful and very personal touches in the form of pictures, ornaments, local maps and the beds, linen and bathroom were immaculate. We would definitely consider booking Amber Cottage again especially as it is so close to many North Norfolk scenic places.

Ms R,

Amber Cottage is in a very good location. It's surrounded by lovely scenery. The whole area is very quiet, which is perfect. The local house facilities are very good and you also have some big supermarkets less than 15 mins away, which is a bonus. There is a useful bus stop outside the house which is useful as you do not have to rely on your car. The beach is nearby and the house location makes it a good hub if you want to explore Norfolk like we did.

Mrs J,

A very cosy and comfortable cottage, would thoroughly recommend.

Mr T,

Cosy and comfortable. Good place for walking and visiting the North Coast.
