Description

This charming home has a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere, making it perfect for family or friends looking for a peaceful location close to the coast. With a clifftop promenade and gardens and an award-winning Blue Flag beach hugged by colourful beach huts, Mundesley is a truly delightful coastal village. When the tide is out the shallow waters and long, sandy beach make this a play haven for young and old alike. There are plenty of pit stops for coffee and cake, fish and chips, good local shops for everyday needs and two village inns serving food. Venture further afield for Amazona Zoo at Cromer (8 miles) and the National Trust’s Felbrigg and Blickling estates (10 and 13 miles respectively). Enjoy the nature reserve and bird watching at Cley (18 miles), whilst railway buffs can choose from the steam railway from Sheringham to Holt (11.5 miles) or the Bure Valley Railway from Aylsham to Wroxham.

On entering the property, you find yourself in the cosy and welcoming living area with a lovely blend of traditional and contemporary features as well as the gorgeous wood burner, perfect for unwinding after a busy day on the beach. This leads onto the family bathroom and beyond this is the wonderfully traditional kitchen and dining area complete with a fantastic Aga, making this a great space for socialising with friends and family. From the kitchen you can access the outside courtyard garden as well as the sunroom. The comfortable seating and TV make this a great space for children. Upstairs there are three comfortable bedrooms: one super-king and one king-size which leads onto the single bedroom, again making this a great bedroom setup for families.

Outside, the property benefits from having two gardens. One is at the front of the property and is fully enclosed with a lovely lawned area. There is also a rear courtyard garden complete with patio furniture and charcoal BBQ.

Reviews

Beautiful cottage with everything we needed and more, even for our dogs. Location was perfect for exploring this beautiful part of Norfolk.

Mrs M,

Ivy Cottage was a beautiful place to stay in a quiet village, with just a short walk to the lovely sandy beach. The cottage was spotlessly clean, with comfy beds and was well kitted out with absolutely everything you might possibly need - a lot of thought has clearly been put in to this by the owners with some lovely finishing touches. There was milk and butter in the fridge upon our arrival and a generous basket of goodies left out on the table for us. We took our dog with us and she was well catered for with dog bed, feeding station and even a jar of treats :-) Parking was provided for two cars but is a little tight for larger vehicles.

Ms G,

Love this cottage. So cosy and comfortable and ideal for the dog and access to lovely walks. Everything we needed was there and all the comforts including 2 beds for the dog! Will definitely return

Ms S,

Absolutely gorgeous cottage! The Aga kept us warm and cooked our meals when we were out. An issue that arose during our stay was resolved immediately by the owners. Also early check in and alternative start date offered due to storm was very considerate. Highly recommend and would definitely return.

Ms C,

Wonderful cottage with everything for comfort for humans and dogs. Friendly helpful hosts. Would certainly stay there again

Ms M,

What a lovely cottage, home away from home. We didn’t think we would be able to use the wood burner, so it was a lovely surprise to see when we got there that Judith had managed to get it fixed!

Mrs B,

Fabulous, well equipped cottage with an Aga that will keep all toasty! Spotlessly clean & all needs for your pooches catered for from beds, to bowls, treats & so much more. The cottage is perfectly located for beach walks, highly recommend walking to Bacton. Also lovely wooded walks in the area. Mundesley has an amazing bakery & butchers & a great little bookshop for a mooch. Owners extremely welcoming & friendly. Highly recommend!

Mrs W,

We cannot recommend Ivy cottage highly enough. I can guarantee that you will be made welcome when you arrive by the owners followed have a fabulous holiday. The cottage is the best that we have stayed at and the village is lovely. It is perfectly located to discover the best that north Norfolk has on offer. We will definitely return at some time in the future.

Mr C,

Location is perfect. A lovely little village. Very well equipped and comfortable cottage. Great location for exploring Norfolk. Aga is a joy once you get used to it! Even in October we enjoyed the sheltered garden.

Mrs P,

What a little gem we found when we booked the delightful Ivy cottage in the beautiful village of Mundesley. Only a 10 minute walk to the sandy beach, it was ideal for us both and our 3 dogs. After receiving a friendly welcome from Duncan who kindly showed us where all the essentials were, we soon found the cottage to be equipped with just about everything you could possibly need. The bed in the main bedroom was both really spacious and comfortable with lovely Egyptian cotton bedding and we both slept like logs as a result! Even the doggy beds were a hit with our 3! The whole property is clean and very well maintained throughout with a lovely courtyard and fully secure garden to relax in on those sunny days. A lovely touch was the very generous welcome pack which also included treats for the dogs - thank you so much! We will definitely be returning.

Mrs S,

We had a lovely 4 night stay here! Location was excellent- 5 minute walk to the beach which had a pub on the beachfront. The cottage was well equipped and the garden was secure and a decent size for dogs! The bedrooms were a good size and very comfortable. We’d recommend driving to Brancaster beach as this was beautiful and also visiting Holt as it’s a cute little village. Driveway was quite tight if you have a big 4x4 but manageable. Enjoyed our stay and would recommend it!

Miss F,

A wonderful cottage - very pretty and well-decorated. It was very clean and really well equipped with everything you could want. We fell in love with the aga, too! The owners were very helpful and responded quickly to a query we had. It's only 10 mins walk to the beach, and Mundesley itself is a lovely village too. It's also well located for exploring the area and lots of attractions. We'd definitely recommend this cottage.

Mrs J,

Best cottage we have stayed in, everything you can think of it has. Hosts are great also.

Mrs B,

Fantastic accommodation well presented ideal for local shops and very short walk to the beach

Mrs S,

A most beautiful cottage with everything you need and more. The owners are lovely people and if you have any issues they are on it straight away. Situated in a lovely little seaside village, fully recommend and will be coming back again. A lovely little gem.

Mrs D,

The owners were friendly & welcoming without being intrusive. The property was very comfortable, very well equipped & very dog friendly. Nice enclosed garden & courtyard. Great location for dog walks to the beach. Would highly recommend. Would definitely return to this property

Mrs P,

Absolutely gorgeous cottage attention to detail was fabulous we wanted nothing everything was supplied

Mrs C,

Wonderful cottage with lots of little notes explaining how everything works. The owners were next door and were extremely helpful. The cottage was spotless and the beds were very comfortable.

Mrs M,

Judith and Duncan were amazing hosts. The welcome was fantastic with the offer of support (they live next door); and then they left us to a great holiday. The cottage is amazingly well equipped – everything you could need. Some basics in the cupboard. Lots of dog beds, bowls and gravy bones. Beds are very comfortable. Good quality linen. Excellent supply of towels etc. Both front and rear gardens are secure for pets; and also a nice spot to sit and relax. You certainly won’t be disappointed here. Great staging post for the East Coast. A few minutes’ walk from a quiet sandy beach with dog friendly areas.. Mundesley town is quite quiet – but we like it that way – Cromer is a few minutes’ drive up the coast if you want busy and crowded.

Mrs C,

Beautiful cosy cottage in a super location. The owners have provided everything you need and more! We will definitely be back.

Mrs H,

The cottage was lovely, very well equipped, all things have been provided including for the dogs. One of the best we have stayed in.

Mrs S,

Perfect cottage, perfect location. Very well equipped and loved the Aga.

Mr C,

Lovely stay at Ivy Cottage. Cosy, comfortable and with everything you need. Peaceful location with great access to beach walks and The Broads. Enclosed garden for the dog was great and a lovely little courtyard off the kitchen. Will definitely stay here again. Thank you

Ms S,

Ivy cottage is lovely, the Aga is a treat as is the the log burner. We had a wonderful week and the hosts are so very helpful and generous.

Mrs A,

Nice comfortable cottage. Owner helpful. Cottage had everything you could want in terms of equipment and items provided by the owner. Very dog friendly

Mr G,

We had an amazing time staying in Ivy Cottage. Met me at the door and showed me around, where everything was and how everything worked. There was a comprehensive guide book to the cottage and a very generous welcome basket. Ivy Cottage itself is beautiful, decorated and cleaned to a very high standard and really did feel like home. We would all definitely stay again.

Mrs L,

Had a lovely week at Ivy Cottage. Clean, comfortable and very well equipped. Dog friendly with both outside areas completely enclosed and safe. Loved the Aga and the wood burner kept the Cottage nice and warm and cosy. Will definitely return, this is best Cottage we've stayed in.
