Ringstead is a hidden prize tucked slightly inland from the North Norfolk coast just waiting to be discovered. With houses in the village from the 16th Century and beyond, it is an attractive spot for a holiday. The 17th Century village pub The Gin Trap Inn serves delicious meals using local produce and the well-stocked village store is a true delight, showcasing local food and drink, an extensive ale list of local brews and a complex of rooms and courtyards full of things old and new, which is a treasure hunter's delight! The village is next to Ringstead Downs, an attractive chalk grassland located in a deep-set valley and The Peddars Way and Norfolk Costal Path are also within easy reach. The wide beaches of the North coast are close by at Old Hunstanton, Holme-next-the-Sea and Brancaster and are great for family days out, rock pooling, sand kiting, wind surfing and offer some amazing sunsets. Thornham, a popular coastal village is nearby with a high-quality deli/restaurant, several pubs, and Drove Farm Orchards which has a farm shop, eateries & Italian Gelato ice cream and other retail outlets. The RSPB Bird Reserve at Snettisham, Thornham & Titchwell are just a few miles up the coast and the elegant Georgian village of Burnham Market with its eclectic shops and galleries should not be missed. Holkham House with its deer park, great house and pinewood backed beach and the Royal Estate at Sandringham can also be found in this delightful corner of Norfolk, which will draw you back time and again. Don’t forget a trip further down the coast to Wells Next The Sea for fish and chips along the quay and a spot of crabbing, along with a visit to Blakeney for seal trips.
