Description

The Wee Retreat is a unique property and one we are delighted to market as its history story and property are so unusual. Converted from a traditional Victorian toilet block the property was bought by the owner as a present for his wife. What vision! Now, transformed into a property with attractive accommodation that is well equipped and very comfortable. The views to the sea are amazing and the beach is your playground. A stunning transformation!  Shop/Pubs: 0.25 miles walk along the sea front

Ground Floor:
Open Plan Sitting Area with comfortable seating, flat screen TV with Freesat, CD player, DVD player, sliding doors to enclosed veranda with stunning sea views Kitchen/Dining Area with electric oven, electric induction hob and fridge with ice box, breakfast bar and two stools

Lower Ground Floor:
Accessed via a spiral staircase
Bedroom 2 with a double bed
Shower Room with shower cubicle, washbasin and wc

First Floor:
Accessed via a spiral staircase
Bedroom 1 with a double bed and En-Suite Shower Room with shower cubicle, washbasin and wc. French doors open to enclosed veranda, stunning sea views

Parking: Roadside at the top of the slope or public car park.
Heating: Under floor heating on all floors, via air source heat pump.
Also Provided: Towels. Books and games.
Notes: This is a non-smoking property. Wee Retreat is small but perfectly formed! The size restriction does mean that seating for dining is limited; the balcony furniture can be used to seat four in conjunction with the breakfast bar. Please give us a call if you have any questions. Mobile signal is weak if the tide is out on the beach or good from the top of the slope. Unloading and loading is possible at the bottom of the slope for a very short period, steps and a steep slope, may make this property unsuitable for guests with mobility difficulties. We do not feel that this property is suitable for children under the age of 8 years.

Reviews

A comfortable lounge and bedrooms, more than adequate for 4 adults, the bathrooms are snug to say the least. I would be warry about taking children due to the open nature of the spiral stair cases to the up stairs and down stairs bedrooms and the stairs and remote location are certainly not suitable for the elderly or infirm. We enjoyed our stay, ideal location for visiting the surrounding area and Sheringham is a lovely seaside town with good pubs and restaurants.

Mr H,

Had a fabulous week at the Wee Retreat. Comments by previous customers are still valid which is a shame. The property could be 100% if care and attention were paid to the place. Saying that, the views are to die for and Sheringham is a lovely place to visit. The beach is lovely but not very good for taking long walks on as once the sea is in, it is right in, with no room to walk.

Ms C,

A truly unique property with the most amazing 180 degree sea views.

Mr C,

If you love the sight and sound of the sea, the Wee Retreat is the property for you. It's a bit Tardis-like in that from the outside you'd not realise how much could be packed into such a small footprint and the owners have produced a little gem of a place. But there are points that should be noted: it is a wee place, so don't expect huge bathrooms; eating in for 4 wouldn't be especially sociable as there is no dining table and there isn't comfortable seating for 4. There was just the 2 of us so none of this mattered and we just enjoyed the sea and Sheringham. Oh, and there is quite a long, steep slope and steps to be negotiated for access from the roadway above - those with dodgy kneecaps might wish to know this!.. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will visit again.

Mr M,

Great location and a unique building.

Mr T,

A great location, handy for the town, literally a 2 minute walk. The local restaurants are good but need booking 3 or 4 days in advance. Despite there being no on site parking there is lots of space at the top of the path.. The cate at the bottom of the steps does good coffee and crepes, ideal for breakfast.

Mr F,

A quirky property in a good location, with pleasant sea views. Not ideal for four people as only three comfortable chairs and only two available spaces at the breakfast bar. Welcome pack was just a pint of milk! A very cold property in certain weather conditions, with no access to heating controls. Downstairs shower room, very very small and unpleasant to use. Position of double bed in the upstairs bedroom not ideal, due to the apex beam. Lacks some basic kitchen equipment. The door to the ice making compartment in fridge is broken and held in place by a piece of cardboard.

Mrs M,

This is a unique property with stunning views of Sheringham's beautiful beach. The property itself is lovely, has an interesting history and a fantastic location.

Mr C,

Great location, very relaxing, will be returning later in the year. No Wi-Fi installed in the property, and mobile signal very poor on all networks.

Mr C,

A lovely place to stay where you can sit and watch the sea all day if you wish. The Wee Retreat was clean and tidy with under floor heating if it turned chilly. I would thoroughly recommend it
