Reviews

We enjoyed a wonderful time in Rose Cottage. So comfortable with everything we wanted or needed and ideally situated. Have already booked a return visit in the autumn.

Mrs F,

Loved our stay, fantastic location, very peaceful, private garden with everything we needed!

Mr P,

A well-situated bungalow on the edge of Thornham and within easy walking distance of the marshes and local pubs. The bungalow is on a quiet cul de sac off the busy main road so is unaffected by the noisy traffic. The rear of the property looks out over the pretty garden and to a field beyond. The property has three good-sized bedrooms and two toilets with a large family bathroom with walk-in shower and a very useful electric heater to provide some additonal warmth on colder mornings. The kitchen is very well equipped with huge quantities of crockery and glasses. The main dining area is in the large conservatory which always seemed to be warm, even in the less than great weather we had during our week's stay. A summer house is situated in the rear garden, full of indoor and outdoor seating and games for children. A bookshelf in the living room is well-stocked with novels and reference books. Walks from the front door quickly lead either into the village itself or along quiet back roads down to the marsh and harbour. RSPB Titchwell is just across adjacent fields but not safe to walk along the main road to. There is a 'deli' at the opposite end of the village but for normal groceries we used a large Tesco in Hunstanton. Two pubs in the village provide an alternative to cooking at home. We tried The Lifeboat and it was very good. The bungalow is ideally situated for easy travel along this stretch of the Norfolk coast with busier Hunstanton at one end of the main road for a typical 'beach holiday' vibe contrasted by the wide open and empty expanse of the beach at Burnham Overy Staithe for those seeking peace and solitude.
